Replying To supersub15:  "This year above any other year is not the time to be seen spitting on pavements or anywhere else for that matter, Covid 19 and all that, so he is perfectly right it is an appalling disgusting act. As for the football, he is no worse than some other pundits with an elitist background."
Maybe a story for the bingo Hall but the national papers? Come on. He's hardly stretching the creative mind in any way shape or form with that. It kinda goes without saying its a bad habit like a lot of things best not spoken about.

I have said the whole show is as poor as its ever been but Colm was the topic of conversation at the time, thats all.

That Cora Staunton is hard listened to. Does she think everyone knows Mayo players by their first names?

Highlight of the day is seeing how purple Spillane and Whelan are turning with the cold.

Was listening to Rte radio women pundits on the ladies match between Cork and Galway, (they were previewing the Mayo Tipp mens match too, bit weird)
but anyway one of the women pundits was talking about the Cork ladies team and she said
'once they opened their legs up and got going they were great'
I knew what she meant but it sounded wrong.

I thought Cora Staunton was very good, gave a very account where Mayo are positioned at present and of course she has
been a great footballer. Maybe she could replace Colum O' Rourke who was ridiculous on Saturday night with his outburst
on RTE, regarding splitting Dublin, rather than discussing the game which is what you would expect in post match analysis.

Since Brolly was chucked out, the post match commentary on RTE has declined. Now, it's too polite, timid, genteel, and boring. We miss his banter and mischievous playfulness. We don't want this sincere but sombre analysis like we got this weekend. Joyless. IMO, bring back Joe. Or huge numbers will migrate from RTE to Sky.

Excellant discussion tonight on Sunday game re Dublin funding/state of Football, solutions are clear as daylight. Dublin have the solution, no one wants it!! We do favour identifying the problems of the games and correcting them no matter what they are. BUT unfortunately the traditional diehards and backwoods men in some county boards won't here of these solutions which invlove really harsh realities. Pat Gilroy articulated enthusiastically the issues and possible soultions and all the Meath lad had was a cap out looking for a a few bob as if that is going to do anything at all. In fact when Gilroy pointed out that these full time coaches are mainly in schools for their day job and they are recruiters for the GAA his response was well they coach the clubs, no they don't. GPO (means Games Promotion Officer) not coach, they usually recruit in the local schools (Na Fianna has six primary schools nearby numbering 600 per school) and 5five 2nd level schools with higher numbers still. He recruits new GAA members, if they don't they play soccer, rugby and have nothing to do with the GAA. GPO's usually run clubs nurseries that is their functions in Dublin. That won't work in Leitrim will it? Well with schools number 8 pupils that is not going to work so how is it to be addressed. What people seem to want is just moe money because they believe Dublin have buckets of it, but even if we do we spend it on the right things. Anyway there needs to be a proper fair discussion and quoting figures from 2015 is ridiculous (they where the only figures RTE could find). As Gilroy was saying if you bring in outside knowledgable people and they slay enough sacred cows, agree what the problem is, we can get a solution. But until the rest wake up and smell the coffee us Dubs have to listen to endless bellyaching.

I thought she was alright but definitely not the worst . If I'd to pick between her and dessie dolan there would be no contest at least she has a bit of life about her. And shes also inexperienced.at this so will improve

Replying To CTGAA10:  "I would think RTÉ had the better of their commentators on duty tonight but even he was dreadful..he mentioned Costello was only just on field when he scored a point, thought he had been on for 10 minutes..o rourke then started complaining about all the dubs have including numbers for playing..maybe othe counties should ask those involved with the dubs how not to waste money.am I one of the only neutrals who is enjoying watching the dubs?"
We can all enjoy watching the Dubs (and they are an excellent team) but the fact is the financial superiority that Dublin enjoy over every other county courtesy of Sean Kelly and his committee is now a monster that is destroying Gaelic football. The Dublin doninated GAA Croke Park establishment won't acknowledge this fact though Sean Kelly has finally acknowledged his part in the financial doping of Dublin to make Dublin essentially a professional outfit playing amateurs.
What a great Christmas present for the for the rest of us if Mayo can finally win an All Ireland after losing so many since their last win in1951.

The guy is hard to listen to, any under 10 would do better-poor analyses by all and you would get better with banter in the local pub (now closed). A gorgeous point sound good just wonder what the difference on the scoreboard.

McEntee was totally unprepared. Plus it was impossible to get a word in edgeways with Gilroy.

Typical RTE set up, bring in that fella McEntee, a very poor and unprepared debater against a fella shouting and roaring. What's gone wrong in Ireland, people put up with utter rubbish and then moan about it.

Gilroy was talking complete waffle. He said at one stage "why did we not have this debate when KK were winning?". Because Kilkenny had no distinct advantages ( population, financial or home venue ) over other teams.they just had a great panel but have slipped back into the pack as expected.
