I disagree, I think small made the most of the contact from O'Sullivan which obviously so did gough, it was 5 fouls for cooper in 35 mins and 2 fouls for Tom in 80 mins. Mdmc has 7 fouls in the first half against Mayo before he got a yellow and all of them were probably worse than coopers and Toms put together. I watched the replay of the penalty being taken, it was a soft penalty but once it's given that's it, you don't then bend the rules because in the back of mind you know it was a bit of a dodgy decision, Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2705 - 03/09/2019 14:42:09 2232411 Link 0 |
I'd totally agree with that and as I said in a previous post it would be a non issue if the Cooper incident never happened

Whelan said Cooper didn't pull Clifford's arm at half time. Considering that it was blatant I'd call that bizarre. Half Time analysis on RTE was rubbish. Brolly and Whelan let themselves down and Spillane couldn't get a word in edgeways

Overall the game was relatively mild mannered affair. Much more controlled display from Kerry who are usually a lot more cynical and robust. I think that helped big style to keep them in it. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 03/09/2019 15:27:27 2232434 Link 1 |
I was right beside the goal for the penalty decision. Blatant penalty, we were shouting for a penalty before Gough had put out in arms. It was a brave call from Gough but exactly the sam,e as it was a braqve call from the ref that gave the penalty for Limerick against Kilkenny in the hurling semi final. Just because they might not be given them often in the penalty area does not make it not a penalty. woops (Kerry) - Posts: 2073 - 04/09/2019 10:01:59 2232651 Link 0 |
Agreed.

Why do you care so much what two lads say in a studio ? The decision's were given and that's never going to change now. It's their opinions I think their both wrong aswell but why are Kerry folk getting so worked up About what Whelan and Brolly thought? Their thoughts have zero effect on the game. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 04/09/2019 10:23:01 2232659 Link 4 |
I couldn't care less what Brolly or Whelan say personally. What is annoying some people is that there has been an effort by the Twitter mob since Sunday to discredit Kerry's efforts by saying they were gifted everything by the ref. It's mostly coming from people who clearly don't know the rules, on this very thread someone said that there is no such thing as a tick for a foul in relation to the O'Sullivan incident for example. It'll all be forgotten about in the run up to the replay and we can look forward to another day out! I have my hotel booked anyway so god willing I'll be able to rustle up a few tickets. I'm not on twitter so I wouldn't know what's being said but personally I thought Kerry were outstanding from defense midfield and up front , and what's more scary is Kerry's 3 main forwards had poor games for their standards so Kerry have massive room for improvement imo. Sean O Se wow 21 years old outrageous, I'm like surely he misses one of these frees nails everyone from way out some talent . Kerry posters who've slagged off this team Dublin team over money will regret what they were saying in a few years time when Kerry start dominating again, it's plain to see who the future of football is. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 04/09/2019 11:20:11 2232671 Link 4 |
Fair enough Woops, I mean GeniusGerry. I'm sure you'll be looked after for tickets alright. Sure your friends down in Cork will come good if you're stuck Oh, wait. Surely not. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 04/09/2019 11:20:27 2232672 Link 0 |

You're better off not being on Twitter Clon, it's a cesspit. I'd be worried enough about the replay but very happy with how the team is progressing. Moran is 31 and will be irreplaceable but other than that they will be around for a long time. 7 of the starters the last day were 22 or under and several others under 25. They also have a few younger lads to come in yet hopefully. Dublin are still young too but that defence needs work and Cluxton will surely retire in the coming years. They've won four U21's since 2010 and got to the U20 final this year so the players must be out there. I doubt very much they are going away.
