Jees lads are you really serious?
A few Galway posters on here blasting Ulster football? (remembering that Galway have been one of the most negative teams in the country tge past couple of yrs).
Kilcoo were as good as corrofin today and missed alot of chances so less of the pitiful degrading because maybe you realise the truth really does hurt as Corrofin were no better today and your antics were quite embarrassing diving and cynical fouling is really what helped you to the win today!
Enjoy the celebrations

Corofin's performance in ET was excellent and showed what a great team they are.

But their performance in the last 15 of normal time was so bad that it almost lost them a game that they never should have lost. They were so unambitious and cynical that it nearly cost them. Time wasting, driving, pulling and dragging off the ball, 15 men inside their own 45 against an inexperienced at this stage 14 men!

Replying To heartbroken:  "Northern food thanks be to holly God it did not prevail today. Ever since the Jimmy is winning matches mantra football has been dying a death."
What have you got against Northern food?

I like Soda Farls personally.

Corofin were so cynical in the last quarter that I was glad they were caught because at least it forced them to go and win the game by playing a bit of football in ET.

Less of the lazy tropes, Corofin were awfully negative and cynical today.

I thought Corofin did well enough or of Lane as a neutral to be honest.

Sending off was critical; first yellow was doubtful, bought by a dive, 2nd was deserved, very foolish by the player concerned. Must be a record for how far that last free was moved up; given ~ 60 meters, taken at 25 meters!

Should have been replay very disrespectful to club football considering All Ireland final would be replay. Different rules for club and county.

Very strange secondhalf from Corofin. They had Kilcoo on the ropes but, instead of going after them to kill them off, they sat back playing possession football and paid the price. It was inevitable that Kilcoo would run out of steam in extra time as they had run themselves into the ground. The first half was brutal to watch but I wouldn't be too critical of Kilcoo. They set up defensively and try to use their great pace and ball skill on the break to win games and it has proved successful for them. Corofin seem to have lost some of the pace that they had and may be coming to the end of the line. Delighted for Fitzgerald, that old war horse, who was still pushing his team forward to the very end. Well done Corofin and commisserations to Mickey Moran and his band of warriors from Kilcoo.

Replying To sam1884:  "I watched as a neutral and I thought Corofin were very cynical but cute. Kilcoo maybe due to being a "northern team" were disciplined but easily punished with cards when they did foul leading to a sending off, the same punishments didn't go the way of Corofin as quickly, I think the stats would back that up. In the end playing with 14 men cost Kilcoo in extra time as they ran out of steam. Corofin fouled in the exact same area throughout the game which was just outside the scoring zone but in the main it went unpunished so I think it would be unfair to criticise Kilcoo for the lazy fact they happen to be a "northern team". Kilcoo were very unfortunate the system changed this year because on today's performance I'd have fancied them in replay; legs were gone at the end. Well done to Corofin winning 3 in a row, today was an almightly challenge for them and showed how easy the last two finals were for them. There is no reason why Kilcoo can't come back again, they looked a serious outfit who made the previous champions look more than beatable."
Spot on in your assesment there Sam particularly about the constant fouling outside the scoring zone. I wouldnt be a fan of some of the theatrics eitherbut I suppose the end will justify the means.

I wonder is the GAA going to bring in a new card for the cynical play by corofin today? Or is that only for Northern teams.

I was at the match. It was obvious after the throw in that Kilcoo's game plan was 14 man behind the ball, negative stuff, keeping it tight, and hitting on the break. Playing open football they would have been wiped off the pitch as happened to Nemo and Crokes.

disappointing to see so many begrudge Corofin the win, sort of pathetic crying.

Congrats to Corofin, amazing achievement to do three in a row in this day and age.

Big shout out to Kilcoo though, really left it all out there and made Corofin earn it.

Thankfully some football broke out in extra time and when it came down to a game of football one team was miles ahead of the other. Both teams served up rubbish in first 60 minutes and we can see why the game in general is in trouble. I watched a schools U16 game being abandoned by the referee during the week as all players got involved in a massive brawl so I guess ill discipline is still a major concern at all levels when you see what went on today.

Thanks I'm glad other posters are highlighting Corofin's antics and tactics and not just putting negative tactics onto Kilcoo. Corofin will be happy heading West with the All Ireland but a neutral will always call it out when a team uses negative tactics - I noticed some tried to paint Kilcoo as using "northern tactics" and Corofin being the good guys but the statistics won't back that theory up.

Well done Corofin fantastic achievement. Tough luck on kilcoo fought hard and were difficult opponents. Really disappointed for Micky Moran a true gentleman who we here in donegal have great time for. Hopefully this is not his swan song

Just as a matter of interest dont you think corofin had 14 behind the ball aswell? Because on tv both teams set up the same
