Of course Roscommon have done better than last year and did well enough to run a top 4 team like Tyrone to 4 points last weekend however Dublin in Croke Park is massive step up as Tyrone themselves has found out, Wouldn't pay much heed to other poster as he's a WUM. Mayo and Meath will be a good high scoring competitive contest one which i expect Mayo to shade by a couple of points. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3606 - 16/07/2019 21:39:02 2212097 Link 0 |
A clean sweep last weekend so this weekend I will go with Tyrone, Dublin, Mayo and Kerry all to win this coming weekend.

Need to make the retained Prov structure fairer - have a Prov Champs Playoff Rd - 2 winners and 6 Rd 3 Qual Rd winners to KO QFs ! omahant (USA) - Posts: 3234 - 19/07/2019 01:59:54 2213013 Link 0 |
Tyrone have been playing well week after week and they seem comfortable with the system they are playing. Cork look very open and may not be able to score as frequently as they did against the Dubs. Tyrone to win. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1792 - 19/07/2019 08:33:23 2213031 Link 1 |

I think it'll be Dubs, Cork, Donegal and Meath this weekend. Hope Roscommon can put up to the Dubs but cant see an upset in this one. Cork has been getting stronger and have some very good forwards so will all come down to how Mickey Harte and Tyrone set up their defensive strategy. Donegal v Kerry should be a classic, and Kerry's backs will be tested. Also the battle of midfield will dictate this match, if Kerry can win midfield like they did against Mayo, they could beat Donegal. After seeing how Mayo's tired legs lasted vs Kerry last weekend, you would think Meath's youth could do just as good. All to play for boys. That wouldn't be fairer either. Rewarding teams for losing earlier. However it's obvious current set up is not fair. Only an open draw is fair in the back door world. Provincial system was fine until the back door system was introduced. I'd say that the provincial competitions either go, or retain as it is. I don't think the provincial system can survive if you amend any more. BaldyBadger (Cork) - Posts: 313 - 20/07/2019 13:29:05 2213511 Link 0 |

This weekend? Today at 5pm, you gonna go? Should be more entertaining than the home/neutral (sorry, I've lost track) game Dublin has today.

Trolling was not my intention, I like to think I have knowledge of football. The evidence so far today shows I was correct without putting much effort into my thinking :) Roscommon are indeed out of their depth at this stage of the Championship.

Looks like it will be decided in Castlebar who will get trounced by Dublin in the semi final, ourselves or Mayo, Mayo and Kerry to win tomorrow, Mayo by 5, Kerry by 3. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3181 - 20/07/2019 20:25:45 2213659 Link 1 |

Cork put it up to Tyrone. Any team in Ireland can get blown away by Dublin. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4518 - 20/07/2019 20:33:55 2213666 Link 4 |
It is a bit, not so bad when you are in it at least, Championship was better with knockout games, the whole thing is a bit of a mess, league is fairly meaningless and only a few teams have any real hope of an All Ireland.
