Mayo V Kerry

Replying To MuckrossHead:  "Mayor's inability to handle the two David's cost them dear.
Morgan's superiority in the middle was baffling, he caught clean ball after clean ball with Mayo not even able to break the ball down.
Going on on one with Clifford made no sense either & I doubt other teams will be so naive."
Can't see Donegal giving Moran and Clifford so much time and space. Donegal are masters at shutting down one or two opposition players. They'll bring a level of physicality that Kerry are yet to experience. Kerry's weakness is their defence though so the real challenge for Donegal won't be the blunting of Kerry's attack, it will be clocking up enough scores at the other end. Donegal have to go all out as there's no way they will want to have to go to McHale looking for a win. Should be a great game.

Yes and when top hurling teams were dishing out hidings at the start of the c'ship Spillane was criticising hurling. Nothing wrong though when Kerry are dishing out the hidings. Hes pathetic!

Only negative for Kerry yesterday was James O Donoghue either he's not fit or his legs are gone, nowhere near the player he was 5 years ago. If it's fitness and he gets back to near his '14 form then good luck to us all.

Replying To clondalkindub:  "Ah your safe now even if Donegal beat ya's you'll beat Meath in the next game so it's all good. Don't think Donegal will beat ya's and if they don't they've to go to Castlebar so all the pressure on Donegal next weekend. It's exciting stuff all the same that's what we all want."
Well it's still in our own hands which is what you'd want, big test on Sunday again a well organized team.

Can't believe the pundits post-match didn't mention it after the Iive game or on the Sunday Game. It was reckless and highly dangerous to Spillane who required stitches to the head. I saw it live and couldn't believe it but when I watched it back this morning it only confirmed that AOS was way out of line. If it was a Kerry player McStay would quite rightly have highlighted the act and demanded justice. I don't care what team you support it is unacceptable.

Replying To BeJasus:  "That was Kerrys All-Ireland final yesterday.
The Yerra men and social media teams within the county created a siege mentality all week for the buildup ,
and it helped Kerry giving them a do or die attitude for the match.

Mayo will Lick their wounds and i wouldn't rule them out just yet.
Their injury list should shorten rapidly and should be a full strength should the reach the semi final stage .."
BeJasus, BeJasus Kerry's AI a Q-final?
Think we aim a little higher than that down here...

Agree they should of mentioned it but in fairness there was a few things they didn't mention including the deliberate shoulder to AOS chest off the ball just before the end of first half which resulted in free in to Kerry and no black card when Doherty recieved black card for same near the end of match

On the eve of fools day following the league final Mayo boss James Horan states - 'Mayo could've won by 10 to 12 points to be honest'. Thanks for the disrespect James! LMAO :-)))))))

Kerry like psychopaths yesterday , it was reminiscent of the attacks on Pearl harbour .
Willing to Die for the cause yesterday, media/former players did their job ,
Mayo went down there with a carefree, not be all attitude and were blitzed ,

Let the super 8s play themselves out before anyone gets judged.

Spillane is so biased it's untrue.Mayo were rubbish yesterday and would have lost to any of the other Super 8 teams.
Dubs hit 5-18 in a great exhibition of open football and he say SFA about it.

This is the Kerry v Mayo thread, if you want to talk about dubs v Cork go to that thread.

They didn't mention AIS sh*t whipping Steven o'brien Off the ball either.

It was a pathetic performance from Mayo. Surely Doherty and McLaughlin will be dropped after this? Kerry were far more up for it and played some great football but surely to god, they wont be allowed to get away with their constant cynicism off the ball going forward? Preventing frees from being taken, blocking runs, pulling and dragging...........totally ruins the game as a spectacle in my view.

While Mayo are showing some signs of being past it they are still a big danger to all and can go through to the semis.
The loss of Durcan was huge and with DOC likely to be back they can overcome Donegal.
They have had great days in Croke park and are DIV 1 champs while Meath had a shocking experience there recently. If Andy is going to play I think he should start. They can kick a big score next Sunday and then have 2 weeks to have everyone recovered.

They got beaten by a team who, playing like that, would have beaten just about any team in the country. They're also league champions, lest you forget. And finally, that was their fourth game in as many weeks, and they had to go into it after coming down from the Galway game; a game which no doubt emotionally tanked them.

Can we please lay off the lazy "Mayo are past it" declarations that we've been hearing every year for the last three years? I wish Galway were past it, if it meant they could play with half the passion the Mayo squad normally show.

Mayo were "finished" as far back as that game in limerick in 2014. It's lazy analysis and just re spouted rubbish people hear Brolly day and then take as fact..in other words there are many people out there who are clueless about football.

As I said before hand Kerry would win but I didn't except a hammering. I think Mayo will be fully focused for Meath and there will be no complancy

JH didn't do it before when it was on a plate for Mayo and he shouldn't have got another chance, him and his background team are not tactically good enough, In my opinion bar his blunder with Mr OS naming RH in the all-Ireland SR was a far better man at setting up a team. They were abysmal yesterday I really felt for the 15000+ fans making that trek back to Mayo. If they are to reach the semis they need PD DOC and the best find of late MR back

As a neutral at the game the referee made alot of errors in Kerrys favour for the most part

Even if Mayo get beaten , they will be wrote off by the media despite having already bedded in 5/6 players this year..

From what i hear there are another 3 or 4 groomed for next season too ,with this year being a year too soon
so i cant see this being the end irrespective of result next Sunday.
