It's all well and good saying this money is getting kids playing Gaelic games in the capital.

That would be fair enough if the capital had 4 teams.

The optics are terrible also and present an organisation tripping itself up to appease and cater for Dublin with little thought of many rural counties, or what this massive 'capital' investment would mean down the road.

Sensible observers like Kevin McStay have stated as much.

However the argument on here has been to try and present questions over Dublin funding as the domain of some McKenna fella on Twitter I never heard of. It's not. It's a mainstream problem.

There you have it then. I'm sure all of us have bought or sold club lotto tickets, under the mistaken belief that it would help. We've all been wasting our time and our money. And I now realise that it's pure coincidence that eg man City win more than Stenhousemuir. Whats that old pop song? Money for nothing and everyone else is in dire straits.

They all hit low when under pressure. Until we have fair division of funding based on player numbers we'll keep making noise.

An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. An amateur organisation which was set up on the basis of equality should just be that. Fairness for the Roscommon, Monaghan, Laois, Meath footballer, whereby they are not struggling against elite cliques.

Exactly, all the potential of that money driven talent being funneled into 1 team is crazy, it's time for the Dublin split to happen , I mean it's for the good of the children in Dublin after all.

The children in Dublin deserve to have the realistic dream of being able to play for a Dublin intercounty team when they grow up and especially after all the money invested in getting them involved in the first place.

Colm O'Rourke makes a similar valid argument. We're about 5 years away from anything like that becoming a reality.

What is your Antrim club Whammo? Con Magees would be my personal favourite - a great setup there.
See you not too interested in the Antrim forum. A few souls have tried to initiate discussion on there & have been left unanswered - their lonely words echoing around the green glens.
Perhaps your allegiance has shifted.

The GAA is about your club first and foremost. County is great and all that but until Dublin clubs are winning all levels of club All-Irelands year in year out, I'm not worried and our games dying which is the doomsday nonsense so many of you love to spout.

I find a lot of these comments pretty sad in all honesty. I take great joy out of GAA and I don't need Donegal to be winning in order to have that joy.

County has been taking over from club for 30 yrs or so. Now finals moved from St. Patrick's Day to January.

Most kids dream of playing for county over club. It's the ultimate. If not most county players wouldn't make themselves available.
