Replying To katser: "Mayo Tyrone Westmeath Offaly (only because I want Galway to get them..handy)" Be handy would it, you bet London by 3 or 4 points and beat Sligo by similar to what Offaly beat them by!! A little reality check and it might suit you and Galway better

Cant see an Offaly win and I see Clare beating Westmeath too. MAyo to just about come through and Tyrone to win by 2-3pts

On predictions i think the following; Mayo...loss of O'Connor will redouble their effort even though Armagh appear on the rise Kildare...big game in them Westmeath...just as Clare are decent Offaly...have a feeling that their run will continue.

From GAA Hour, PP qualifier bets:
Jarlath Óg Burns 22/1 first goalscorer, 15/2 anytime goalscorer.
Kildare halftime, Tyrone fulltime is 4/1.

quick question on the qualifiers, why is it that in round 1 and 2, repeat pairings are allowed then in round 3 then repeat pairings arent allowed??? surely should be consistent throughout, not chopping and changing from round to round!

Replying To Yondu: "tough break for Diarmuid O'Connor, damaged eye socket and now a broken wrist in a matter of weeks for a player that rarely got injured before. S O'Shea,D Vaughan,C O'Connor all trained with the rest of the panel i hear. One lost and 3 gained for this match? Armagh have 3 important players Murnin,Grimley and Morgan doubtful for this game they can't afford to miss anyone that they don't have Mayo's strength in depth.
As for this weekend.
Westmeath v Clare - Going to side with Clare here, very strong in midfield and good scoring forwards. They have held their own in Div 2 and reached the last 8 just 3 years ago.
Kildare v Tyrone - Tyrone to fall over the line without impressing probably similar to their win v Meath last year.
Laois v Offaly - someone else said Offaly are on a roll? they only beat Sligo who lost all 10 games they played this year and London. Laois is a big step up for them and are a side that will be playing Div 2 football next year.
Mayo v Armagh - Mayo poor at home is a bit overplayed, in the qualifiers they have never lost a game in MacHale Park and i don't see that changing this weekend. Big help for the home side is Armagh unlike other Ulster sides don't have a big focus on defence.
So round 4 should be IMO Laois,Mayo,Clare,Tyrone v Meath,Cavan,Galway,Cork
Depends on the draw on who goes through there but the best 4 out of that 8 is Tyrone,Mayo,Galway and Cavan." 2 years ago it took extra time in McHale park to beat Derry and Cork. So I don't think its overplayed that they are poor at home.

After the clean sweep and calling the Malachy stepping down last week I am going for
Clare- I like Westmeath but Clare are a good side who are probably a little further down the road and might just have enough to get over the line.
I think Laois will win and Ill go on the handicap win -2 again I think Laois are further down than Offaly and I dont see anything other than a serious Laois performance at home against the rowdy neighbours.
Armagh and Mayo- Diarmud out is a big loss and they looked open enough at the back, I think they will get over the line here just about but Ill take Armagh PLUS 3 on the Handicap
Kildare- Newbridge or nowhere, I am a firm believer Tyrone dont like the qualifiers, They scrapped out of Navan last year against a pure dirt Meath team, although won comfortably against Longford it was only 4 points in it. I think Kildare PLUS 3 ont he handicap is the bet here.

Westmeath v Clare. Clare are putting in a tremendous effort. But home advantage might just swing it for Westmeath. Westmeath by 1 Mayo v Armagh. Armagh is a hard one to figure , the wind in navan left it very much a game of 2 halves. But if mayo have anything about them they should win. Plus it's the next opponent I want. Laois v Offaly. After playing both Offaly gave us the harder game, Laois were very poor against us , so I'll go for Offaly by 2 Kildare v tyrone. Think Kildare will win with home advantage

Mayo ended up beating Derry by 9 points. Its overplayed, Mayo have never lost a qualifier game at home and that equals good not bad at home.

Cork v Laois. Laois - not convinced Cork have done enough to deserve a Super 8 place. Laois match hardiness may help them over the line.
Galway v Mayo. Galway - This just seems a match too far for Mayo.
Cavan v Tyrone. Tyrone - Like last year improving as the year goes on. Losing the Ulster Final may be hard for Cavan to overcome. Clare v Meath - Clare - Just about. Meath were brutal in the Leinster Final and I do not see them been able to take anything positive into this game.

Cork v laois = cork seem to be going well at the minute and if they reproduce there form from Kerry game then it's cork by three plus.
Tyrone v Cavan = agree with the previous poster Tyrone are on a role and should win here by three or more.
Meath v Clare = easy one to call here meath by five plus
Galway v mayo = tie of the round and a hard one to call, mayo to shade it
