Mayo: David Clarke; Chris Barrett, Brendan Harrison, Keith Higgins; Lee Keegan, Colm Boyle, Patrick Durcan; Diarmuid O'Connor, Aidan O'Shea; Fionn McDonagh, Conor Loftus, Jason Doherty; Kevin McLoughlin, Darren Coen, Andy Moran.

Same FB line, all good footballers, but far too loose in the first half against the Rossies and not strong in the air. Will need to set up with a sweeper from the off this time. Lots of athleticism going forward from half back up. If we lose tomorrow we'll have managed just one championship win, against NY... hardly worth all the prep, which should inspire a more clinical performance. Should win by 5+.

Predictions:

Antrim V Kildare- Kildare by 6
Derry v Laois- Derry by 5
Longford v Tyrone- Tyrone by 4
Leitrim v Clare- Clare by 4 (though Leitrim could turn this on its head if Clare aren't tuned in)
Westmeath v Limerick- Westmeath by 8
Down v Mayo- Mayo by 5
Monaghan v Armagh- Armagh by 2.
Offaly v Sligo- Offaly 3.

Kerry v Cork - If Cork are inspired by their big win over Limerick they'd need to check the code they played. Kerry will be tuned in enough to win by 6. A shock would be one.

Cavan v Donegal - Donegal played great stuff against Tyrone, but with Cavan being run by a man who seems to know what he's about, I can't really call this. Cavan don't have a M Murphy, so I'll go with Donegal by 2, but with an improving Cavan to still make the Super 8s. A shock wouldn't be one.

Dublin v Meath - if Meath can compete physically they'll likely lose, but fairly respectably. I don't know if Meath can do this (hope they can), so on known form, it'll be the Dubs by 7 or 8. A shock would be seismic.

I certainly wouldn't want Tyrone having to play Down in Newry in a knock out game. That would be a pig of a draw and that is exactly what it is for mayo. This is not a guaranteed victory , you will be going good to come out with a draw.

Replying To LaoisforSam:  "Westmeath v Limerick- Westmeath comfortably enough
Longford v Tyrone -Tyrone but tighter than expected
Antrim v Kildare- Kildare- will see it out well in the end
Leitrim v Clare- Clare but by less than 3
Down v Mayo- Mayo to get back on track by 5 or 6
Derry v Laois - Laois to rebound and get a result but very tight- might be the draw game for the round
Offaly v Sligo - Offaly win it out well
Monaghan v Armagh - Armagh to give the performance they have been threatening to give for years and turn Monagahn Over. O Rourke to Resign after the game opposite number to resign if they dont win."
All on Offaly tomorrow

Replying To leitrimabu1:  "Interesting that a Clare post is giving the game to Leitrim while every other poster is predicting an easy Clare victory. While Leitrim have their shortcomings the season has proved they are hard to beat and they don't give up easily. The Roscommon game was an aberration-we just didn't turn up on the day. Leitrim v Wicklow was a poor game riddled with sloppy passing, silly mistakes with Leitrim the main culprits. Last year Leitrim beat Div 2 side Louth so I wouldn't write them off. Last time we met was Clare's promotion out of Div 4 in a drawn game played in a gale force wind when Clare dragged us to Milton Malbay- a ploy that nearly came unstuck. Are they better than Leitrim? On form & paper yes but I comfort myself with their 1 pt win away to Waterford, not the most most convincing of victories and a defeat to a Kerry side who were poor on the day. Leitrim lack the physicality of Clare a major reason for the Roscommon debacle . However most Leitrim fans are looking for a credible performance ahead of life in Div 3. A victory on Saturday would be a bonus. Let the battle commence!"
Happy to say that i was wrong. I had a 'feeling' maybe leitrim might be the feel good story of the championship. Defintely thought it would be close too, so completely wrong on all accounts. Best of luck in Div 3 next year.

Jaysus Jimjo I hope you didn't make it to the bookies ! Turns out there wasn't enough of a Leinster smell off his predictions at all - he should have picked Laois to win too !
