So there we have it. Clonguish v Killoe.

Dromard just couldn't handle Clonguish today, they had it won the last day and will regret blowing it. Once Clonguish start to get away from you, the goals start coming and its all over. I'm sticking with my prediction from the start that Clonguish will win it out. Lots of motivation from 2023 and a strong performance tonight with lots of momentum.

The ref had not blown the whistle but the Clonguish hype was here from Killoe stats. Two great wins today, both unexpected. I am not sure how anyone outside of the teams involved could make predictions on the minor championship when they would not see the games but here we are! Next year is actually the stronger team and we should make it seven but it will end there. Stunned at the manner of the Dromard victory. Killoe are simply operating at a different level to the rest of the county and three weeks in a row will just be too much against seasoned winners. A great effort from the ladies but Slashers are a special team

Will Connollys ever get over the line in a final? That defeat today will be hard to come back from.

Brilliant win for mostrim. They've made myself and a few others look foolish. Great year to be promoted as intermediate will be much harder to win next season.

Fair play mostrim, well deserved, better team today.

I think Killoe will be the neutrals choice next weekend.

Clonguish were the better team, brought lots of experience over the past few years. Dromard have progressed well from Div 2 this year and have lots of good young players. They will learn a lot from this game.
Killoe should have enough to take Clonguish but what I have seen in the two games against Dromard they are bringing a lot of intensity to their game.
Hopefully it will be an excellent final

Well done to Mostrim, they performed better on the day and deserved to win. Don't think it would be fair to say Connollys threw this away they were well outperformed on the day but still tough for them to lose another one.
Clonguish were much improved against Dromard but the short week is going to catch them, they already lost Jack Duggan from the first game even if they dont have any other injuries I expect Killoe to win it comfortably in the way they often win games, a 5/6 point win that feels like 15

Just a thought but have Clonguish stumbled on an ideal preparation for the County final by having the replay quickly followed by the final. This leaves less time to get distracted, can provide focus on the week ahead and keep whatever nerves they have at bay. Overall they are a very young team and young lads much prefer playing weekly rather than every two to three. I get that they have injuries but that is part and parcel of competitive football, think they'll be chomping at the bit to get back to pearse park this week

I tend to agree with this, Clonguish are in a far better position heading into this week than if the managed to win by a point the first day.
Second half at weekend they got back to doing what they are good at.
When they sit back and dont keep running at teams, they invite the pressure and struggle. They should of had Dromard killed off after 45 mins first day out. I beleive they will have learned massive lessons and the extra game may indeed give them a better chance. A very young team so their recovery will be a lot quicker than if it was Killoe in the same position.

Frank74 will be quick to shut this down and tell you Clonguish haven't a hope and they have injuries and a few more excuses.

I was wildly wrong on the intermediate final, I didn't see that performance coming from Mostrim. Connolly's performed OK but they were just out competed in most positions on the day. They timed their run perfect. Decent but not brilliant league form. Sluggish start in the group stage. Stepped it up from the Drumlish game, to the Grattan's game, and then the final. Improved for 3 games in a row and that was enough. Its going to be a tough battle for them to regroup and go again next year with 2 more strong teams joining them.
There is a lot of excuses thrown around already for the senior final, mostly from the couple of Clonguish lads here. It will be a 50/50 on the day. 1 team has the full 2 weeks to prepare, 1 team has a busy run which keeps them from overthinking. Both teams have injuries, a big midfielder out for each team, Killoe missing a big forward, Clonguish missing a big back. They will both get the same weather have to deal with it. The same referee for both, although this might have an effect if a big wrong decision goes one way. I'm looking forward to a good attacking game. The 2023 game was a disappointing, boring game due to both teams tactics. I hope 1 or both teams don't go away from their attacking football. They are both fantastic teams to watch in full flow. Would love to see a Killoe win but going to call it Clonguish by 4.

He's not from a Westmeath club. Very obvious he is a Longford man.

Credit to sheridan and mostrim played great stuff their attacking players such as hussey greene and joyce caused damage and after seeing a few connolly games was very surprised how open they where but credit to mostrim they was able to kill any momentum connollys had gained and showed why they have been senior jack belton ball carrying was brilliant the loss of daire duggan has been massive and it looked like dessie reynolds sustained a knee injury early on which looked to have had connollys not sure of what to do ronan mcgreil is the only player who can come out of that final who can say he played well its gonna be a tough few years for connollys but who knows maybe being underdogs might suit them , the game sunday will hopefully be a exciting flowing game as both teams have excellent attacks I expect killoe to win by 2 will be tight but if killoe can get a lead with 15 mins left they have the experience to see the game out
