LEAGUE TABLE PLACINGS: As permitted by Code 11.1(e)(iii) GAA Official Codes 2026, League Table placings in all Adult and Underage Championship Competitions shall be determined as follows:. Where Teams finish with equal points for Qualification for the Concluding Stages, for placings on a Competition League Table, or for Promotion or Relegation, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified: (i). (ii). Team with least number of walkovers given. Where two Teams only are involved - the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the previous game(s) in the Competition. (iii). Where three or more teams are involved - the Team (if any) which defeated each of the other Teams on equal points in the previous games in the Competition. 10 \| Page (iv). Scoring Difference from the game(s) in which only the teams involved (teams tied or points) have played each other (subtracting the value of the total Scores Against fron the value of the total Scores For). V).-Highest number of Total Scores For, from the game(s) in which only the tear involved (teams tied on points) have played each other: (vi) Highest number of Goals Scored For, from the game(s) in which only the teams involved (teams tied on points) have played each other. (vii) Scoring difference (subtracting the value of the total Scores Against from the value of the total Scores For) across all games played in the Competition (viii) A Play-Off Because the two teams drew , it comes down to goals scored in the game. It used to come down to total amount of scores but since the introduction of two pointer that can't be recorded anymore. Total score difference seems to be last port of call now. It was used to decide the placings in the Minor A championship, Carrick/Sarsfields Kenagh drew with Dromard and finished first in the table as they had score more goals in the drawn game. I see the county board put out a statement on the relegation table places there today (someone must be keeping an eye on this forum). I have heard this could be getting messy, that Killoe are taking this further on the grounds of being relegated by this crazy method. As the final round has not been played, there is no guarantee that they would end level on points. I'm pretty sure in Westmeath that a team cannot be relegated on H2H and any situation would end in a relegation playoff between the said two teams. It seems crazy that championship fixtures just aren't fulfilled, even for the development of younger players that a game is just called off. Yes there may not have been much at stake but in an adult competition it seems farcical and a poor look for the county that a game can just be called off. Abbey might shade the game this evening.... a lot will depend on who has most of their injured players back. Dromard will be delighted with the weather due tomorrow. Unfortunately will be down in Carrick for Mohill and SOH but I'd have Abbey to beat Killoe due to killoe's injury list and lack of scorning power. They have a lot of really good young players but they are still young. Maybe they will do it this year but they have time on their side and I think once they win their first one will be the beginning of a period of dominance. They may send the Sean Connolly on its way to Killoe. After their performance Saturday, they were given an extra boost with today's game going to a replay. They absolutely have the quality to win it, but that final mental hurdle they need to get over, especially when they've been favorites multiples times in the past and got knocked out either in the quarters, semi or lost the final is their biggest test, and the only way to do that is to go and win it. Every year they get close but stumble just sets them back two steps when they get to this stage again. It's fascinating to watch to be fair! Killoe really showed up on Saturday in a way they hadn't yet in this years championship. Abbey didn't have anything to offer, which is unusual for them. They picked a bad day to have a bad day. Impressive from Killoe and will be heading into the final with lots of confidence. Dromard will be kicking themselves to have thrown it away today. It's hard to call the replay, I will stick with Clonguish since i've had them to win it out from the start, but they won't get past Dromard easy on Saturday.
