Michael Murphy set a new Donegal appearance record when he lined out against Roscommon in the Allianz Football League last Sunday.

The 2012 All-Ireland SFC winning captain played the full game at Hyde Park to make his 195th appearance, which moves him one above Neil McGee. Murphy will hope to join Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea and legendary Dublin goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton in making over 200 league and championship appearances for his county before the year is.

Despite scoring two points, the veteran Glenswilly clubman couldn’t save Donegal from a 0-20 to 2-20 defeat, which was their first of the campaign.
