Ireland retained the Mowi Quaich Cup by defeating Scotland on a 3-3 to 2-4 scoreline in yesterday’s Hurling-Shinty International in Inverness.

Laois ace Cha Dwyer struck two goals, including a late winner to seal Ireland a three-in-a-row success in the series as well as a first win on Scottish soil since 2013.

Ruaridh Anderson had struck two early goals that had the Scots up by seven points after 20 minutes, but Ireland finally got motoring after Dwyer rebounded in James Doyle’s initial effort a minute later.

Doyle grabbed a second goal for Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton’s men after that, as the scoreboard read 2-1 apiece at half-time, and Ireland would move in front for the first time through Eoghan Connolly before Dwyer’s second goal in the 75th minute (watch it below) sealed an Irish victory.
