Cillian O’Connor has returned to Mayo training ahead of next Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Louth.
The veteran sharpshooter returns after being sidelined through injury since Mayo’s Connacht SFC semi-final defeat to Roscommon, while James Carr and Paddy Durcan have also regained full fitness.
“Like everyone else he has to get through the next few sessions, but he’ll be challenging for a place like everyone else,” Mayo manager said of O’Connor at last Friday’s press event in Castlebar.
“James is flying too, he’s kicking down my door looking for a place in the squad.
“I think both (O’Connor and Durcan) should be okay, but we’ll see. Fenton Kelly will be back in full training tonight. He’s the most unlucky guy in the room really. He just had a little tweak but it’s put him out for the last three games. But he’s back training tonight, so he’s a happy boy.
“Darren McHale, our highest-scorer last year, is the only one ruled out at the moment.”
