Waterford champions Ballygunner are into their fourth Munster club senior hurling championship final in five years after brushing aside Cork counterparts Sarsfields with a 4-18 to 2-17 victory at Walsh Park this afternoon.
The Gunners avenged last year provincial final defeat to the same opposition, with two goals inside the opening dozen minutes from Dessie Hutchinson setting them on course for their win.

The Waterford attacker’s second major put Ballygunner into a 2-5 to 0-1 lead and, as they dominated around the centre, the leaders would keep their foot on the throttle by extending their advantage to 14 points before Daniel Hogan bagged a brilliant goal for Sars which had been sorely needed.
The home side went in with a 2-11 to 1-6 lead at half-time and conceded their second goal two minutes into the restart via Luke Elliott, but steadied the ship two later thanks to Patrick Fitzgerald’s goal at the other end.

The sliotar would be in the Cork men’s net for a fourth time in the 39th minute, with Kevin Mahony providing the finish this time and, from there, the points of Pauric Mahony, who finished with 0-10, helped see Ballygunner comfortably over the line.
The results means that the 23-time Waterford champions are now a win away from what would be a record sixth Munster club SHC crown.

Ní chreidim é- cúl eile sa chluiche 😯 Chéapfá gur scór cinniúnach é sin ó Kevin Mahony.
It's the 6th goal of the day and Ballygunner's 4th- what a display of scoring!
