Ballymacelligott (Kerry) landed the All-Ireland club junior football championship crown this afternoon thanks to a 1-16 to 0-13 win against Clogher Eire Og (Tyrone) at Croke Park.

The Munster champions came good in the second-half to triumph to the coveted title at headquarters, with Donal Daly’s late goal sealing the deal for them.

Having run up a 0-5 to 0-1 advantage in the first dozen minutes, Ballymac saw their lead slip as a couple of two-pointers from Ciaran Bogue and Conor Shields saw their Tyrone counterparts gain momentum.

Cillian Barkley shot Clogher in front in the 17th minute and the scores of Bogue, Marc McConnell and Ruairi McCaughey helped them to take in a 0-10 to 0-8 lead at the half.

Aidan Breen’s two-pointer from beyond the arc levelled things up for Ballymac early in the resumption and they’d pull clear with the help of Darragh Broderick’s frees.

Jack Joy put four between the sides with less than a quarter of an hour to go and Daly’s goal would see his team with one hand on the trophy ahead of Niall Collins rounding off the winning tally
