Niall Fitzgerald is set to be named as the new Tipperary senior football manager.

The Moyle Rovers clubman will fill the vacancy left by the sudden passing of Philly Ryan last month. According to the Nenagh Guardian, Fitzgerald was ratified at a county football committee meeting on Tuesday night. His name will now go before a full county board meeting later this month for formal ratification.

Fitzgerald served as Tipperary U20 manager from 2023 and '25, and is therefore already familiar with many of the players he will be working with at senior level next year.
