Former Tipperary star Shane McGrath believes there will be changes to the Kilkenny management team following the Cats’ exit from the Leinster senior hurling championship last weekend.
Derek Lyng’s side fell to a 1-26 to 0-22 defeat at the hands of Dublin last Sunday at Parnell Park – a loss which marked Kilkenny’s earliest exit from the championship in 30 years.
Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast this week, McGrath feels as though changes are on the way in the Marble County.
"I think there will be changes in the Kilkenny management team," he said. "I don’t know will it be Henry Shefflin? Has Brian Dowling done enough now to get a shot at it?
"It will be an interesting few months ahead. Derek Lyng is still the manager, and could still be the manager, but that’s just my opinion on it.
"I thought the emotion in his interview (after Dublin defeat) was very interesting to listen to."
