Replying To Curlew66:  "That very stat was discussed by Tg4 panel , they concluded that Errigal had to work much harder for their frees. Game had a pattern of Errigal Ciaran working a well worked score from play followed by Crokes getting a soft scoreable free to level. It went to the stage that Crokes realised that if they worked possession into the scoring zone and initiated any contact they were guaranteed a tap over free.
Could see the frustration level rising within the Errigal defenders but credit to their coaching they held it together. Don't think ref went out to be one sided but seemed intent on keeping it close on the scoreboard.
What a tour de force by the Canavan brothers, superb creating and scoring .. worked hard too."
The Canavan brothers were kept fairly quiet in the Ulster Final but I was of the belief that the Crokes defence wouldn't be as tight and so it proved…. The 2 bucks got 1-13 (0-3) between them so if Cuala can shut them down ( not easy ) I think they might have enough at the other end to win the game as I don't think Errigal's defence is the tightest… Should be a great Final…

The All Ireland Club Championships at all levels in both codes have been absolutely brilliant. It's what the Association is all about.

It is. Intermediate final was great stuff. Was hoping for extra time!

Canavans still learning, still young. The defence that keeps them quiet will be worthy of MOTM.

Watching canavans and I can't wait to see them under the 3v3 rule, they will be be a complete handful for any defence..mick fitz will probably mark one of them but don't know who'll pick the other one..at the other end con has been brilliant and really looking forward to a great final..I can't actually call this final..

Don't be foolish…. It will never be 3 v 3 in any game of Importance.. The defences will still be clogged up.. The first semi final on Saturday was excellent (under the old rules ) and no amount of rule changes will improve on that… it's more likely that the changes would have a negative effect…!

New year, same negative mentality. Always glass half empty with you. Defence can't be clogged up with at least 6 players in the other half of the field. I'll spell it out for you, less players means more space.

As long as they won't cost YOU any extra money, then don't worry about them!

I'll spell it out to you… 12 players in defence means a clogged up defence…. new rules are going to turn Gaelic football into a stop / start farce of a game… when a team gets a free all a player from the same team has to do is shout something at the ref and he will pick the ball up and run 50m up the field for a closer free.. All sorts will be going on when the games mean something…. Even these challenge games are being reported as being farcical…wait until the real thing starts…!

Got it in the first match thank you very much… but the 2nd game was atrocious… just the type of football that seems to appeal to you…when you get your head out of the sand that is…!!!

Interesting to see how little the Ulster posters have to say on this topic this evening....

Heroic come back by Errigal. Went down with boots on.

Great to see Mick Fitz possibly end his playing days with another All Ireland.

Absolutely thrilled for Mick.
He was instrumental for one of the Cuala goals also.
What a legend.

Cuala were clearly the better team. To lead by 3-05 to 0-01 at one stage in the 1st half, was phenomenal.
Credit to Errigal for their 2nd half comeback having trailed 3-09 to 0-05 at Half Time.
Peter Harte was amazing. What a player. Shame he got sent off near the end.
But Cuala were clearly better than the final scoreline showed.

For the Dalkey club to win their 1st Ever Dublin SFC just a few months ago, to this. Wow.
Some achievement.

Con joint top scored on the day with 6pts. He is an amazing player.

Cuala join St Finbarr's of Cork as members of a tiny, elite group who have won All-Ireland club titles in both codes, having won back-2-back Hurling titles in 2017 & 2018.

Approx 31,500 in Croke Park yesterday.

Reckon there wasn't a Tesla in Dalkey charged last night... ;o)
