Replying To WanPintWin:  "The trend continued in extra-time. Crokes got a lot of soft frees, which in reality kept them in the game for stretches.
What a fantastic game it was though and an exhibition from both Canavans. They were absolutely outstanding.
For a game in the middle of winter on a fairly soft pitch, it was a brilliantly entertaining."
Darragh's sliding catch and quick pass to Ruairi for him to dummy his man and stick ball over the bar is normal for these pair. Brains makes football very easy.

Errigal evens, Cuala 6/5. I suspect Errigal will start shades of odds on.

That 5/2 as advised wasn't bad! Cuala will need to stop fading out of games. Going to catch up with them I fear.

Two great finals to look foward to. Two fist time champions no matter what outcome.

The referee was woeful

No one would have predicted the 4 club finalists this year - SFC & SHC.

Great to see, and hopefully at least one Dublin club can prevail.

The Canavan's are a joy to watch and Con & Fitzy also.

Both games have the makings of crackers and hopefully both live up to expectations on that front.

Looking forward to heading in to Croker next Sunday.

A great game of football earlier. EC were worthy winners but made hard work of it. The Canavans are a joy to watch. Oguz was very good as well when the fat was in the fire.

Cuala need to improve, they made a bit of history today for their club, but for me, the winner was probably always coming from the other semifinal

I fancy Errigal by 3+

They've definitely given them next weekend off anyway.

New year and you're already tipping anyone playing again a Dublin team.

Happy New Year Jimbo.

Yep, Cuala need to improve and put in a full 60mins+ performance.
Made hard work of it today but the Sligo men really put it up to them.

At least they now know they need to improve next weekend.

Errigal definitely favourites, brilliant display today almost undone today, especially in normal time by unbalanced referee, Mack Hansen should make a statement on behalf of Errigal LOL,

I havent posted herè in about 10 years and have kind of lost faith in intercounty football as last number of years( hopefully new rules help). 1st what a game that game was today great repeact to both clubs. As a monaghan who traditionally disliked Tyrone as last 10/15 years i have to say the canavan brothers are an absolute joy to watch. The sheer skill these two boys have has made me happy today and retore faith in our wonderful game

I've been talking these two boys up for a number of years now. When Darragh was still a minor and breaking on to the scene , Tyrone people were beginning to talk about Ruairi. The U20 semifinal in 2022 against Kerry then put Ruairi on the scene. I think I've said it on Hoganstand that Peter could finish the third best player in that house.

Ironically, Peter Canavan strongly defended Cawley after the Donegal/Galway match in which there was a few controversial decisions that went against Donegal!

If you were to be fair to him - and indeed to ref in Cuala game - it seemed to me that both refs were blowing for any sign of "hand in" even though I thought Errigal were disproportionately the victim of this where there was no obvious interference let alone anything you would normally see as "over robust" or whatever.

Crokes free at end of one half was clearly a charge and a free out not other way. Anyway, it didn't effect end result.

In a couple of weeks

It's a pretty impressive to see Cuala in a football final, they've made a bit of history there, but I'm not a Cuala supporter, so it doesn't mean much to me personally.

Looking at it completely neutral, I think Errigal will win, and do so in a somewhat convincing manner.

3 or 4+

The big semifinal was Crokes v Errigal and for me, the winner was coming from that side.

Congrats to Errigal, they'd have especially enjoyed beaten the Kerry lads..

I'm pretty sure the bookies will have them as favourites alright, sort of a no brainer.

Getting through Crokes like that, battled hardened

Cuala will need to find their best performance of the year and hope Errigal have a bad day in my book.

Replying To sligo joe:  "19 frees awarded to Crokes, 7 to Errigal, all on the panel saying Crokes getting soft ones."
That very stat was discussed by Tg4 panel , they concluded that Errigal had to work much harder for their frees. Game had a pattern of Errigal Ciaran working a well worked score from play followed by Crokes getting a soft scoreable free to level. It went to the stage that Crokes realised that if they worked possession into the scoring zone and initiated any contact they were guaranteed a tap over free.
Could see the frustration level rising within the Errigal defenders but credit to their coaching they held it together. Don't think ref went out to be one sided but seemed intent on keeping it close on the scoreboard.
What a tour de force by the Canavan brothers, superb creating and scoring .. worked hard too.

Just my take on it..

The difference in free count was fairly suspect wasn't it.. its rare to see a side sneak a close game with such a glaring disparity working against them.

Great win for Errigal
