It is like there is a level of complacency, mixed with playing not to lose, as opposed to grabbing a game by the scruff of the neck and delivering."
Like I said earlier - This defeat won't sit well down your neck of the woods, at all, at all.

Not sure Jack is getting the best out of this team. Far too slow and defensive at times.
Still expected you to win yesterday, but Armagh were definitely the better team.

As were Galway v Dublin.

Those awards matter, but are subjective, and tbh I sometimes feel as if his name precedes him.
I remember one point he scored in the 22 final, second half, a free, a bit tricky, from a tight angle, but scorable too. He got it, and listening to McStay in commentary you'd be forgiven for thinking he cured world hunger.
If Damien comer, or Peter Harte, or who ever you care to use as an example replicated his performances, I'm not sure they would have received back to back poty awards and 5 all star awards.
Also, I've also already explained that it would probably be impossible to justify the hype he receives, in fairness to the lad.

I don't blame them. Jack O'Connor has them playing awful dire stuff. Kerry are now one of the worst team to watch play. Armagh are a much better team to follow

Armagh no doubt the better team and deserve to go through. Kerry didn't have the legs to match them late in the game and in ET which must be a big question for Jack O'Connor and his backroom team

Some talk above re Clifford, no doubt he will be disappointed with his year. This slow game plan that Kerry are employing completely nullifies all the things DC is good at and isn't helping him in any way. He will beat most backs in the country if he gets decent ball in early where he can take the mark or just get it in space and take his man on to work the score. Kerry aren't breaking quickly now and are by the time he gets his hands on the ball the opponents has everyone back and there is no space to work in.

From Kerry's POV too many unforced turnovers, and the mistake for the Armagh goal was a huge turning point that opened the door for them. They played all the football after that. I expect we have seen the last of Paul Geaney and possibly one or two others

The day belongs to Armagh however and they will have a right crack at Sam no doubt"

You're picking two games as a way of backing up your point. What about Monaghan this year? Are they not an Ulster team? How about last year against Tyrone or Derry?

Also funny how many Donegal fans have come out from under their rock in recent weeks.

All those acolades you list there do justify someone asking the question why he is missing when it matters? Maybe its the ridiculous expectation, maybe its the team tactics. But none of those titles mean anything if in a crucial games he struggles to make an impact.

He was Man of the Match in the 2022. To pick a handful of off games to justify him being overhyped or whatever isn't the case. It was the same thing that was said for years about Colm Cooper. Yet plenty of other players have been overhyped without backing it up and nothing like the criticism Clifford has got.

I wonder will Mickey Harte be Kerry's next manager.
With the success they have enjoyed with Paddy Lally, Kerry believe that the Ulster way is the template for the modern game. Who better than Mickey harte to implement it

So why is it an issue if David Clifford doesn't have an individual good game? If it's only about the team?

By your logic his display yesterday doesn't matter because Kerry as a team were poor. Or are you going to change your story with that?

Agreed. Terrible stuff to watch. Feel sorry for the players who have to serve up this garbage style football.

Kerry are a hard watch under o Connor, It is so structured it can't be fun to play, kerrys traditional kicking game has been abandoned for a slow ball carrying game, now you can't blame O'connor entirely for that as Fitz Maurice also abandoned it. Kerry are probably the best supported county in the country by people with no connection to the place at all, the amount of people I met wearing Kerry gear from different counties was mad, no other county has that,that Kerry team has no real identity, they should be looking to go back to what they do best
