And allowing Biden to leave with dignity is hardly something that Trump would care much for.

While I think he's right, I'd caution against believing the predictions of a bookies who went bust!

It's a forgone conclusion because the Irish electorate for the most part don't understand how to vote.

"Who are you voting for?"

" They're all the same. This government has done nothing"

"So who are you voting for?"

"James Brown (FF) he sorted out the pothole where me mother fell and hurt herself"

That's an actual conversation I had with somebody who works on financial services.....

I'm actually not anti trump or Pro Trump but you're right. That doesn't seem like his character.

Neither of them have left/will leave with any dignity, and that's aside from the both needing to wear nappies

Replying To points50swiththeargyllsonthewrongfeet:  "English "immigrants" lol. FYI, Irish people have been using stone for construction since Neolithic times, and the first English-Norman invaders constructed largely-earthen (motte and bailey) castles.

I'm a corporate lawyer, and I work inside the deficiencies of the adversarial common law system, with its emphasis on primitive aggression and punishment. The Irish Brehon law system wiped out by the British was a vastly more civilised legal system, one which had a greater emphasis on restitution and community-based justice, and in which women were afforded much more respect than in the Christian-inspired common law."
No need to be a corporate lawyer to know about the Brehon Laws, I assumed every Irish boy and girl was taught that in school.

Ireland does need a credible alternative to FFG but I'm afraid that won't come in the form of SF. A warning for any party thinking of selling their souls to FFG. Labour and the Greens did it and paid the price. At least the Greens got a lot of their policies through but they still propped up a government who have failed on the key issues. Labour should have remained in opposition in 2011. Let FFG have another five years together.

Replying To Viking66:  "Or what? The Israelis aren't afraid of the Americans. Back in the 60s noone would sell them advanced weapons. They had, and still have, the best secret service in the world. They just stole the plans for said advanced weapons. And made them themselves. They developed their own nuclear weapons also. They've 3000 years written history of being sold out or walked all over. Theyre surrounded by enemies whose stated aim is eliminating them. They don't really trust anyone. And that would include the Americans."
1920 - 1948 the entire region was known as Palestine. On may 14th 1948 David Ben - Gurion the head of the Jewish Agency proclaimed the establishment of the state of Israel. U.S President Harry Truman recognized the new nation on the same day.

Israel, know they have the continued support of the U.S since Harry S Trueman was the very first states man to recognize the state of Israel.

Why are they surrounded by enemies.? Why do they not trust anyone.? Why would they not trust the Americans.?

Since the end of WW 2 the U.S have reminded Israel that they have their support if and when they need it, so why would they not trust them.

Benjamin Netanyahu is guilty of crimes against humanity, against men, women and innocent children.
It is in fact a war mostly against civilians.

As long as FF/FG have decided to cosy up together there can never be a change in government for eternity…. Imagine that in the past when they despised each other….They can impose whatever on the people but will always be in power…. SF are the most popular party but that means nothing …

Sinn Féin agree with FF and FG on all the fundamentals of how this country - both parts are run.

Like all rival parties they disagree over social welfare rates, marginal taxation, personalities and opposition will always claim to be better at providing more houses/jobs/hospital beds/Gardaí/teachers.

Then when in power - as SF have been in north (don't even go there ....) they spend most of their time making excuses why they didn't do all the things they promised - Irish unity/houses/jobs and so on and so forth.

Will be same if and when SF are in government in 26.

No excuse for not exercising your democratic vote but you can see why many, almost most sadly, do not.

Anyone who doesn't vote to show anti or pro government/ party/candidate stance has zero credibility for me. I don't share the views of some 'far' right candidates but they're entitled to their opinions and at least they're not sitting anonymously on a fence on YouTube, X or Facebook. It's a democracy and the near left will continue with the wokey cokey for the time being. Hopefully they can look after those less fortunate and not those they targeted to get them enough votes to get to Kildare Street. Fair play to any candidate, have to be in it to win it. No polling booths on social media.
