Any word on who will be the Monaghan manager for 2025? Edd,South(EU) (Monaghan) - Posts: 60 - 05/09/2024 09:54:40 2568527 Link 0 |
A lot of pressure on Sean's this weekend against Eire og, lose they are gone and Eire Og would love to knock them out.!! Wambamalam (Monaghan) - Posts: 17 - 05/09/2024 10:34:37 2568535 Link 0 |
Think the knee operation young Wilson had wasn't a great success and he hobbled off again against Rockcorry last day out, think he's out for the year now Drumhowan be team to beat

That's a few knee operations now if I'm not mistaken. Did he get a run with the county only for the a knee injury to halt it?

I'm not sure what county ball he played i know he'd a few knee operations and missed a year or two through a bad break in his ankle or leg

Word is Jason McDonald is home from Australia to play for oram. Could they be a dark horse for junior ? Monaghan37 (Monaghan) - Posts: 28 - 05/09/2024 19:13:46 2568629 Link 0 |
I would say not. They can be very good or very bad. Toome and drumhowan final. Some good games in senior this weekend, will be spicy in latton but I think they will see it out and I think Inniskeen will take care of killanny. Any word of a new manager?

Agree with this, Oram seem to always improve in the championship from their league form in recent years but still behind toome and drumhowan, them and Eire Og for me are probably the next in line though. Toome and drumhowan will be a great game when they meet. I'm still going to call donaghmoyne on this one, if they are not motivated for this game they will never be up for a game again.!! Emyvale and Truagh is a huge game in intermediate, Truagh will be in relegation if they are beat so pressure on them. Bit of talk around Eoin Lennon and David Mccague will get it. Some talk of Gabriel Bannigan as well possibly assembling a backroom team, it could be a strong one with the Dublin connection. sporto (Monaghan) - Posts: 177 - 06/09/2024 15:14:16 2568726 Link 0 |
I'm expecting Eoin Lennon but would prefer Gabriel bannigan or someone else experienced. Vinny got a bounce in his first year but struggled badly managing the side albeit in difficult circumstances in his second year. Either way looks like we are back to two years ago again with v few wanting the job. Need to appoint someone soon enough. seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 1846 - 07/09/2024 08:20:17 2568808 Link 0 |
God the quality is getting thin.

Big win today for Oram. Without Pauric Graham, Mcgeogh and M Guinness.Hugh Brennan at Full back had to go off after 15 minutes also. Toome were without Frank Connolly and james Wilson only lasted 10 minutes after coming on and having to be replaced with another injury . Oram kept toome in the game by conceding silly frees. McDonald looked sharp. Kicking the last two scores. Toome lads looking seriously deflated at full time. And Wilsons injury looked to be bad. It's Drumhowans championship to lose.

Huge win for oram and fully deserved by all accounts. But it probably won't do toome any harm in the long run. Eire og knocking out seans not probably a suprise either. Cremartin won a thriller against aughnamullen. Any players putting their hands up for a county place? 222 (UK) - Posts: 800 - 07/09/2024 21:24:01 2568866 Link 0 |
Big win for Oram and were better team Toome look unfit and slow compared to Oram who looked sharper and hunger was there i know Toome short a few and Wilson came on injured for 10mins and went back off with looked like serious shoulder injury but they just don't look like the team they were few years ago, the 2 teams that came down Sean's and Toome look like they'll be stayin in junior for a while CTC6 (Monaghan) - Posts: 29 - 07/09/2024 21:48:20 2568868 Link 0 |
I don't see past Eire Og.

Yup, was at game myself, Mc Donald a very good footballer. Woods was very good on dead ball and I'd agree frees kept them in it. Wilson is a big blow if it's bad, he would have won it for them but I'd agree Drumhowan are team to beat if young Wilson out.

Was at toome and Oram also to look more at toome and left a lot more impressed with Oram. Woods must have kicked 8 or 9 frees only for him toome looked to have no answer. Frank Connelly is a huge miss and Wilson though. Irwin looked dangerous, McDonald and Forde in midfield work hard, Mckernan and I think he McCooey good at the back and a big big man in full forward that looks like on a better day he would do serious harm. Still don't think Oram will win it but have put themselves In a good place. I'm going to change my prediction now to a drumhowan vs Eire og final. What odds would a Blayney/Oram double be Monaghan37 (Monaghan) - Posts: 28 - 08/09/2024 12:34:30 2568911 Link 0 |
Not sure scotstown will go weak. Will want to keep momentum plus they have a break to the semi final anyway
