Shamrocks have not been to a semi final since 2019. Have not beaten Garrycastle in a knockout stage match since 2012, losing in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2019 and 2021.
Makes Saturdays match very important from a Shamrocks perspective.

Replying To PowellJohn3:  "I Hear Kilbeggan are lodging appeal on being relegated, anyone have any knowledge of this? A lot of the games were one sided, the Downs in second gear won well against shamrocks who are very limited i think Garrycastle may get the upper hand in that quarter. Kinnegad win was on the cards, Athlone have been bluffers for some time now, they will be near relegation over the next 4-6 years where does Eoin Jordan go from here. Caulry beating Moate not a surprise much more experienced team, Moate were poor and played poorly in other games. Killucan unlucky to miss out and i think Tang will do what nobody thought and they will stay up as Malachys probably have an eye on hurling final.
In Intermediate Tubberclair were far superior and should have won by another 5/6 points there defence just locked down shandonagh who looked to have a full team bar 1 or 2 but everybody missing 1 or 2. Milltown are probably moving very well in the background and coming under radar a bit. Multy got a big win but rosemount very understrength throughout the year missing key players. Castledaly did what they had to do to beat a poor Maryland team whos future doesnt look too bright even though 1-2 goof minors due to arrive next year. Result of the weekend for me Finea beating MTP, i know MTP were through but still they had most there full team bar a couple playing and you dont want to be losing games going into a quarter where Multy will through everything at it.
Kinnegad to win
Garrycastle to win
Miltown by 2
Multy by 1"
Kilbeggan lodged an appeal due to Maryland player receiving 2 yellows in game last Tuesday but not getting sent off. Thrown out as no video evidence, unfortunately Maryland lost usb looking for a football in the ditch after the game

13 years on from that county final that shamrocks won how many that played that day are still around and due to play on Saturday? I count 13? 5 Shamrocks and 8 Garrycastle. Have I forgotten anyone?

Fair play to these lads doing it for two great clubs for such long periods.

Shamrocks - Denis Corroon, Davy Gavin, Killian Daly, Daragh Daly, Lorcan Smyth.
Garrycastle - John Gaffey, James Dolan, Mark McCallon, Gary McCallon, Eoin Monaghan, Conor Cosgrove, Mattie Guiheen, Rory McGowan

I wouldn't think the onus is on Maryland to provide anything; it's a tough one to take for Kilbeggan no doubt.

The opposition doesnt make it any more important. Its knockout football so any game now is important.

Happens all the time I'm sure. Very rare I wouldn't go climbing around ditches with the tape of the game in my pocket after any game

Senior:
Shamrocks vs Garrycastle - Garrycastle by 2/3 points.
Coralstown/Kinnegad vs Caulry - Coralstown/Kinnegad to win by 1/2

Tang vs St. Malachy's - Malachys to edge it

Intermediate:
Milltown vs Castledaly - Milltown to win handy.
Multyfarnham vs Milltownpass - Multyfarnham to win, cant see them having anyone good enough to hold Wallace

Junior:
Can see wins for all the Junior clubs over the 2nd teams

As long as you would not lose your integerity as well as the tape searching in the ditches,
After all what is Sport without integerity.?

Unsporting carry on from Maryland in the boardroom last night. They will have no luck for it.

Get over yourself!! Laughable comment. In what world should someone be expected to provide evidence to an opposition appeal?! Hardly Marylands fault the referee made (and corrected) a minor error while winning the game fair and square?

If everything was fair and square and above board, What didn't Maryland just offer up the video footage?

Its a dog ate my homework excuse saying the usb was lost.
Why not just say they didn't want to hand over the tape and be honest about it.

Long term this is a very important game for Garrycastle. With an older team, if they were to exit championship with back to back defeats to Tang and Shamrocks hard to imagine belief will be there next year to put in effort required in training to make a serious stab in group 1.
But if they win against Shamrocks and get to a semi they'll believe next year they can get in top 4 of group 1.
So this match could shape the medium term future at adult level for Garrycastle.

Replying To iarmhiabu:  "Oh Glory to Mount Temple
And we flaunt our colours bravely
We're cheering for our heroes
Who wear the famous red of Caulry
We're cheering loud for McCormack
The roving county goalie
Who scored ten points a game
And won the Flanagan trophy

For Maguire on the front foot
With Luke Loughlin in his pocket
For the ever durable Damien
And the gallant Clinton boys
For Grennan and Shortall
Who kept The Downs at bay
And showed Martin and Lynam
How the Temple men can play

For Tiarnan the terrier
Whose latest kick got there
And also for Connolly
Unbeaten in the air
And then a cheer for Senan
With roots to County Clare
He kicked a late two pointer
That left Caulry with one to spare

We shan't not forget young Tadhg
The younger Baker brother
Our All Ireland winning captain
Charlie Drumm to shudder
And Murphy and Malynn
Who each has helped to play
Caulry the Westmeath kings
Crowned on a historic day

Hurrah for Pat Flanagan
Who showed our boys the way
Cake Curran and all the greats
Who placed them in the fray
And also for our sponsors
Who keep Caulry's colours high
And we'll not forget the mighty feat
In October of twenty five"
I give Caulry a chance on Sunday but settle down with this garbage
