Right decision to call off today's game. Portlaoise can be a damp ground at the best of times. Glad I didn't buy tickets!

That will mean a month without game. Not the best preparation for what's going to be a very important battle with Antrim next week.

Agreed CARPS but no point trying to play on a swamp. Player welfare has to take precedence. Hopefully the break won't stop Carlows momentum.

True but antrim must be low in morale at this stage

Antrim will come to Carlow next week having played two competitive games since we last played so that's definitely an advantage to them but neither game went well, both went very badly in fact, so what frame of mind they'll be in is hard to know. They're playing to avoid relegation now and that won't have been part of Davy's plans when he took the job although he'll probably say now he didn't care about the league anyway. Hopefully no backlash from them anyway and we definitely owe them more than one beating after being very very hard done by with home town decisions given to them in really tight games in Belfast recently.

On a weekend where our senior footballers set a new low for our expectations, perhaps a silver lining is brewing with the minors. A 1-8 to 0-7 win against Waterford this morning in the league. I couldn't get to the game today but from what I hear it was a marked improvement with strength on the pitch from the start, players in their preferred positions and strength coming off the bench. Nicely balanced was the reaction. Although the opposition may have been poorer than the last couple of weeks, anytime a team concedes 0-7 after conceding 12-22 in the previous two games combined, that is progress. I'm unsure the last time our minors even won a league/championship match but maybe there is a bit of hope yet and hopefully some confidence instilled in these chaos going forward...

I think you have to go back to the 2022 season for a minor win of any sort so that's very welcome.

Thanks Barrowsider. I had thought it was quite a while since they had won a game alright.

I can appreciate your concern for carlow football, but such a rant of recent posts about whose getting runs in minor challange matches is ?????.
Why the obsession with this panel and management, is it personnel?, or at least coming across that way.
As you are in the know.. throw out what you'd perceived should be the starting 15…

When will this match be sandwiched in between? Anyone, anyone, Beueller?!?

I don't see a rant anywhere there about league matches, they are not challenge matches. You may perceive exactly as you see fit but I didn't realise there was a restriction on what could be discussed on this forum. The "big 2" teams and associated cliques have been discussed enough on here by others. I was trying to be upbeat....

I didn't get down either but A good win and I also hear the 20's won last night vs Limerick.

On a side note, I did see the starting team from the minor match and 3 of the U16's on the panel started again… I suppose the 7 points conceded were their fault was it Bracker?

Someone said to me possibly st patricks weekend. It's a very busy schedule now. As I said earlier hopefully they'll keep the momentum going from the waterford game despite the gap. I was at the challenge game v wexford last week and they looked sharp all be it just a challenge game.

Only 2 of the previous defenders started today and only one started in the position they did previously from what I heard. Which was my exact point in prior posts..2 of the 16s were excellent today playing their normal positions..that's what I was told...
