Replying To rossie4sam:  "Anyone know who is coaching the u20's is it Frankie Dolan or who else is involved , they seem to be very well drilled and their workrate and tackling is very impressive."
There's an Evan Talty who's very highly regarded among the coaches.
I think he's a Clareman.

Very impressed with the coaching of the u20s , some of the other underage teams could learn a thing or two from them. Hopefully they can get over the line in the final.

Throwing it out there Under 20s potential AI winners serious squad with a good few players having good experience playing senior club with Strong clubs. If they get a bit of momentum you'd never know. All about belief

They are doing alright but have only won one game, Plenty of questions were asked of the management team after we played Mayo. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Unbeaten but we have won only 1 game in 4. See where the year ends up before we lose the run of ourselves on Management.

would love to see a Connacht winner of AI U20. Standard appears good. Will the break be good or bad for the Rossies till the final ? I'd say Galway boys were rattled by Rossies leap frogging them to the final. Sligo look like they could be hitting form a the right time...serious second half v Mayo. Great round robin this year and can't hurt the development of all Counties going forward. Best of luck against Mayo this weekend. Sligeach abu

All the usual suspects are favorites in the betting Dublin, Kerry, Tyrone Etc. With Tomas o Se in charge Id imagine Kerry will be formidable opposition. I know its impossible to compare underage county football and senior club football but definately think the higher end of senior club is a higher standard and basing it on the fact that a lot of the players have experience with the stronger senior clubs within the county. If they could just scrape over the line in connaught which seems to be a really good standard this year it would give a lot of confidence and after that a lot of it is about believing their good enough and not being intimidated by tradition.

Yes working his way back from injury. Best of luck to the Roscommon U17s tonight need to bounce back with a win, Galway always strong at this grade so we'll need a big improvement from MacHale Park last weekend conceding too much 2-13 (19) and only scoring 2-7 from 22 shots on goal.

Tomas O'Se as manager would be one of the reasons why I wouldn't tip Kerry, if they win Munster I would expect the leinster champions Dublin,Meath or the defending AI champs Kildare to beat them.

Ulster I expect the All Ireland winner to come from this year. Teams are extremely strong this year in that province both Tyrone,Derry especially the bad news for the Connacht winner is that they'll face the Ulster champs in the AI semi final.

One of the advantages of having designated seats in the stand for next Sunday's match against Mayo is that you do not have to arrive an hour early to get a seat. The downside is that fellows like myself who like an odd pint, might leave it a little late to leave the pub/restaurant resulting in congestion at the gates near match time. Not sure if any new turnstiles have been stalled (probably not) at the stand side.
As there is a large crowd expected, Roscommon and Mayo supporters might therefore be best advised to turn up relatively early and also print off their tickets as I have been delayed by scanners not been able to scan phones properly in bright sunlight. (Good forecast for Sunday)
Not telling people what to do, but the less congestion at the gates the better for all concerned. There will be enough tension within the ground!
(PS: No connection what-so-ever with the county board. Just a Rossie supporter hoping for a good day out)

Be great to see Sligo beating Galway.. I would think ye will give them plenty of it tomorrow. Walsh and comer have played no football in few months so opportunity is there for ye. Sligo Vs Roscommon final in senior and u20 would be great to see

When is the last time Kerry even won an u20? It's a grade they don't seem to put too much emphasis on. I don't know much about O Sé as a manger.

U20 only came in in 2018.

Very good win for the U17s tonight led the match form pillar to post and even when Galway got their goal against the run of play to cut the margin to one point we closed the game out well for a deserved three point win.

Even in u21 they don't have a great record. Just looked it up, one u21/u20 since 1998. Doesn't affect their senior ambitions anyway.

I'd say he means U20/21All Ireland championship. The answer is last won by Kerry in 2008 which is a long time ago for a county with Kerry's pedigree and tradition.

Kerry won a U21 All Ireland 2008 with players such as Shane Enright,Killian Young,David Moran,Johnny Buckley,Tommy Walsh etc. And probably would have won one a decade later if David Clifford,Sean O'Shea was allowed to play U20.

I still look back at 2008/09 in annoyance, we had a panel that was capable of winning All Ireland those years but we so poorly prepared and managed compared to the 2006 U18 group. 2012,2014,2015 we simply ran into very good Dublin and Tyrone U21 teams. 2013,2016 was annoying also as we had the beating of Galway,Mayo yet after they fell over the line against us they went on to win the All Ireland.
