Playing in Salthill is a lottery for any team....including Galway!!

Think you already no the answer to that! We are not going well, poor team selection and poor instruction tactics from the management. But, I still fancy us to win our next 4 games and get to the Leinster Final. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2548 - 22/04/2025 14:49:30 2603658 Link 1 |
And if you are correct , suddenly the narrative will change magically to " very good team selection and brilliant instruction tactics from the management!"

Aren't Morgan Burns Killeen all involved, and being inexperienced young fellas aren't exactly lighting up the 2025 championship so far? Plenty of time left though, and 4 games to play.

There shall be big pressure on Wexford if they loose to Dublin and then face a dangerous unpredictable Galway in Salthill! But for what it's worth....I fancy Wexford to beat Dublin and come West full of confidence!

Based on your historic predictions I'll get down to the bookies and back the dubs :)

You could be like the Galway poster on here who drove all the way to Wexford Park to "support " Galway and before the game decides to back Wexford. Think it was last year!

Wasn't that the Pope? And I don't mean the man lying in state in Rome (RIP)!

Reading through the posts here and the poor support from the Galway puplic is a sad state of affairs. Sidelinecut1982 (UK) - Posts: 2 - 24/04/2025 09:56:35 2603993 Link 1 |
The only people who'd know about that are the people who'd know about that, and it would mildly surprising if any of them post on here, and even more surprising if they do post, and feel compelled to answer your question from their perspective. What poor support? The team has lost their last three matches by 12pts each time. There's always less bandwagoners, when the wagon doesn't have wheels. Oh no, that was me! Poor auld katser doesnt really get the complexities of life! I mean I would LOVE with all my heart to see Galway win the McCarthy Cup this year but will make this astounding prediction that I dont THINK they will and will put my money on Cork instead. But should it happen somewhere in the championship that Galway and Cork play each other I'd be at the match and I will be shouting as loud as any Galway man for a Galway win because what my HEART desires is more important to me than getting a prediction right and making money from it.

Team and management need support now more than ever. Supporters need to get behind everyone thats my point. I asked if the whispers are true as to a rift between MD and the county board again. It may explain the further dip in form. Never suggested they would post on here or anything of the likes. All the best Sidelinecut1982 (UK) - Posts: 2 - 24/04/2025 12:52:07 2604034 Link 1 |
I haven't heard anything about MD being on thin ice. It's not logical as expectations were not high when he took over. The Joe Canning/David Burke era is over and the team has to rebuild. It's frustrating but it's a fact. MD will need everyone to be patient as it's going to take time but at least give the chance to succeed or why hire him in the first place?

Supporters will follow teams when there is clear sign of effort. If the intensity in our lads on Saturday is the same level as in Nowlan Park then there won't be anyone there to watch the home games. Antrim at home is a dull enough fixture as it is, without the current malaise. Obviously they have to beat Offaly but even outside of the result, at least go out and show some passion and effort, hit something.

Leinster u20 taking shape now, though we still have another few weeks off before we play our semi final. The quarter finals should be pretty straightforward - Offaly will beat a poor Dublin team who conceded four goals to Antrim and we saw how bad Laois are in first round so surely Wexford will beat them easily. That will leave Offaly against Kilkenny and ourselves against Wexford in semis. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 875 - 24/04/2025 18:40:50 2604104 Link 1 |
And still McGeeney relied on Galway to give them the All Ireland..

That laois team were very good at the minor grade so wouldn't write them off too quickly

Not entirely, they ko'ed Kerry in a knockout game. Something Galway haven't managed since the sixties.

They were abysmal in the two group games. Lost by 23 to us and would have been worse if we hadn't butchered goal chances. Lost by 14 to Offaly who didn't have Dan Ravenhill, Daniel Hand, Ter Guinan. Screeney came off with 15 minutes left.
