Meta boss donates €150,000 to three Waterford GAA clubs

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan are donating €150,000 to three GAA clubs in West Waterford after buying a property in the area.

Shamrocks GAA in Knockanore, Tallow GAA and Lismore GAA will each receive €50,000 after US billionaire and Meta owner Zuckerberg purchased Strancally Castle and its 440-acre estate on the banks of the River Blackwater in August. 

The donations will be paid to the clubs over a two-year period, with each club receiving €25,000 per year.

"The GAA is at the heart of communities across Ireland. As new members of the Waterford community, we’re proud to support these local clubs and the important role they play," the couple said in a statement as per RTÉ.
