New Antrim senior football manager Mark Doran has brought former county star Michael McCann into his backroom team.

McCann represented the Saffrons over the course of three decades and remains a key player for county champions Cargin along with his brothers Tómas and Paul. Having turned 40 this year, he was eligible to line for the Antrim Masters team in their recent All-Ireland campaign.

Doran was appointed Antrim manager a fortnight ago in succession to Andy McEntee, who has since linked up with Monaghan. A native of Longstone, he was involved as a coach with Davy Burke in Roscommon this year, having previously held coaching roles with Down, Clare and Wicklow. He also co-managed Ballybay to a Monaghan SFC title in 2022.

Doran is currently in charge of Slaughtneil and will remain with them until their involvement in this year's Derry SFC ends.
