Karl Gallagher could be back in a Monaghan shirt next year after being delisted by the Adelaide Crows.
Gallagher became the first player from the Farney County to sign for an AFL club in January 2024 when he joined the Crows as a Category B rookie on a two-year deal. But after making 32 appearances for the club's reserve team, the Crows have decided not to offer him a new deal.
Adelaide’s list manager Justin Reid said: “Karl can leave the club with his head held high, having embraced the challenge of moving to Australia and changing codes.”
The availability of the 23-year-old Emyvale clubman would be a major boost to Monaghan whose last appearance for the county came against Dublin in the 2023 All-Ireland SFC semi-final.
