St Eunan’s may appeal their surprise defeat to Termon over a '16th man' incident in last Saturday’s Donegal SFC preliminary quarter-final.
Termon edged a 1-16 to 0-18 extra-time victory over the Dr Maguire Cup holders at the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy after the sides couldn’t be separated at full-time. But in shades of last year's controversial All-Ireland club SFC final between Kilmacud Crokes and Glen, the Burn Road side appeared to have 16 players on the field when substitute Enda McCormick fisted over what proved to be the winning point with three minutes to go.
McCormick had only just been introduced in place of John James Sweeney, who was still on the pitch at the time of the score. It gave Termon a two-point lead before Shane O’Donnell reduced the deficit to the minimum for St Eunan’s.
Termon are due to play Naomh Conaill in the quarter-finals this weekend.
