Former Limerick hurling star David Breen has been appointed as the new first-team physio with Liverpool FC.
The appointment comes after the 39-year-old had worked with various high-profile teams across soccer and rugby, including the Munster rugby first team, the Manchester City FC academy, the Leinster rugby academy and the Celtic FC youth team. Only last month, former Longford ladies footballer Clare Farrell joined the current Premier League leaders as lead performance nutritionist.
During a successful playing career, Breen won a Munster SHC medal with Limerick in 2013 as well as an All-Ireland club SHC title with Na Piarsaigh in 2016. He is also the holder of five county SHC and four Munster club SHC medals.
“Davy has taken up the role of first team physio with Liverpool and we're all immensely proud in Na Piarsaigh today,” his GAA club said.
