Not so much a big blow, but more a red flag.

He was man of match for us in national championship final. I would consider it a big blow in terms of what he is capable of bringing from a footballing and physical standpoint. Anyway no point in commenting until we hear full extent of reasons.

Yea heard he left the panel. On a positive Cillian O'Sullivan is supposed to be back training.

Thanks for that.

Disappointing to hear Flynn has left the panel. From last year he was one of the main hopes going forward for us. Wonder for what reason he has stepped away. Regardless, without Grey we are a bit exposed in this department for Sunday and going forward for the year. Would it be an idea for management to go looking for Menton to come back? Was always consistently good and would give that bit of cover for the team.

It's both a big blow and a potential red flag to be fair.

I understand players are happy with the management team ,and keen to improve performance. Management are seen as fairly demanding but fair.I will settle for that !,

Fairly sure if Mento wanted to play he'd be back playing by now. Think that door is closed unfortunately, we miss his experience and consistency

Totally agree! Jack Flynn was outstanding in the Tailteain Cup final against Down and was impressive all of last year!
He is 22 years old and not even in his prime yet I would say! But he is an absolutely outstanding talent with a great future ahead of nurtured and managed well - like a lot of the lads on the panel! I would be doing everything I could to keep him but perhaps there are things behind this that we will never know!
From what I can tell that leaves only Daithi McGowan as a Ratoath player on the squad! Amazing - they have contested 4 of the last 5 Senior finals and were league winners last year! They must be a strong team rather than brilliant individuals in that case!
I'd say their new management will be delighted to have a full squad to prepare with!

I will say it's unusual that a player who's almost a nailed on starter walks away. Can't really comment much further without knowing the facts of the situation. Just very disappointing to be losing players of that talent and age. Hopefully it's not a long absence

We really have to go all guns blazing against Louth on Sunday, if we have another flat performance like we have in R1/R2 then we could be looking down the barrel of a second home defeat to them in the space of a year! Its a team full of young players who should have no bother keeping a high tempo for 70mins, out of curiosity what is the average age of the team? Surely not more than 23? Keoghan 32, CoS 29/30, Jones 26/27 are the only "older" players I can think of

Replying To Sheridan2010louth:  "1. Billy Hogan (my preference as his kickouts are better than brennans, I'm OK with Brennan starting though)
2. Brian O'Reilly
3. Adam O'Neill
4. Michael Murphy
5. Cathal Hickey
6. Donal Keoghan
7. Matthew Costello (his best performances for meath have been from this position, think he looks awkward at FF, 0 scores from play in the league so far is unacceptable for a FF, it's just not working)
8. Conor Gray (50/50 chance he's ready for Louth game I'm hearing)
9. Daithi McGowan
10. Jack OConnor
11. Eoghan Frayne
12. Cian McBride
13. Ruairi Kinsella
14. Shane walsh
15. Diarmuid Moriarty

Massive change needed for us to even have a chance of staying in division 2. I feel absolutely fine dropping both midfielders. If Diarmuid Moriarty doesn't start vs Louth I completley give up on this management and no I'm not from Curragha. It's just painfully obvious to anyone who knows meath football that he should be starting."
1. Sean Brennan
2. Brian O'Halloran
3. Adam O'Neill (to mark Sam Mulroy
4. Brian O'Reilly
5. Jack O'Connor
6. Donal Keogan
7. Sean Coffey
8. Ronan Jones
9. Conor Grey (if back and if not Daithi McGowan)
10. Diarmuid Moriarty/Daithi McGowan
11. Cian McBride (if Conor grey is back)
12. Matthew Costello
13. Aaron Lynch
14. Eoghan Frayne
15. Shane Walsh

CoS only back training , James Mac I presume 28/29. Same for harnan.

That's true - could be something in the background. It will become more of a concern if others were to step away - let's see!

Don't think so. Still injured and may be out for all league. I heard that in Armagh. How accurate or not. I do not know

McGill won't return and Flynn now gone. Hopefully not a trend.
