Replying To winatallcost:  "What is a strength and conditioning coach going to do for a team mid season on a temporary basis?"
During the championship is the most important time to have a competent strength and conditioning coach. There is a lot more to their role than just "getting players fit".

I guess it depends on the role. Perhaps there is more input for this role or this person than one would assume with the bulk of strength and conditioning really a pre-season/early season task. During the season itself, it is more about game preparation and maintaining a certain level of fitness and injury prevention/management. Difficult to make much of an impact on strength or fitness this late in the day!
