Anyone worried about the ladies team so far in the league? Seemed disjointed yesterday at times . Will take time for the new management to gets things right but a poor enough campaign so far… Thoughts ? Royalman11 (Meath) - Posts: 29 - 19/02/2023 18:18:39 2459121 Link 1 |
Agree 100%. Players missing obviously but very disjointed. Our kick outs need work. Odyssey1 (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 19/02/2023 18:43:09 2459134 Link 0 |
Davy will work his magic. Give him space. Been a long few years and a lot of success so we can expect a wee dip. seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 353 - 20/02/2023 20:00:50 2459515 Link 1 |
Don't know if anyone has thoughts on the team. Scored one point in the second half today. A lot of misplaced passes. Odyssey1 (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 19/03/2023 18:42:13 2464860 Link 0 |
When does the championship start. Off timing for an all star trip isn't it? Like I assumed Championship is imminent seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 353 - 08/04/2023 18:01:08 2469606 Link 0 |
After a disaster weekend let's hope ladies can bounce back and make us smile seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 353 - 23/04/2023 21:40:55 2472977 Link 0 |
Hopefully the Dublin result points to a change of fortunes but confidence must be low. Quality is there though and it will come good. The last few years would also have been hard mentally so I can understand the dip seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 353 - 10/05/2023 06:47:27 2477160 Link 0 |
It is hard to understand why any self-respecting manager/management would take on a ladies team at the moment, especially Meath who had such unprecedented success the past two years, and it was almost openly said at the end of last year that is it now this team, with management and a lot of players moving on. It was always going to be a step down no matter who came in. Players coming and going willy nilly from Australia, All Star trips right in the middle of the season before championship, its just very very messy. Some murmurings of the players having a big role in this. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2003 - 05/06/2023 16:35:00 2484184 Link 1 |
Rumours are it was player power thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 1073 - 05/06/2023 18:00:06 2484204 Link 2 |
Very obvious that this was player lead. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 998 - 05/06/2023 22:02:53 2484234 Link 1 |
Whatever about tactics or setup from the management, performance levels from the players hasn't been good enough this year. Making similar number of unforced errors as they were in intermediate. The attitude of the senior players to new players coming on to the panel has been very poor as well, which has led to a bad atmosphere. No matter who comes in, the players should be looking inwards first. Hopefully things can turnaround this year but very late for something like this to happen. royal11 (Meath) - Posts: 102 - 06/06/2023 10:07:51 2484286 Link 1 |
Why is this not being mentioned or discussed in the national media? The back to back All Ireland Senior champions have got rid of their manager mid season and not a bit of questioning being asked to why this happened. It seems women sports only want attention when things are all rosy in the garden. Imagine Dublin or Kerry mens team got rid of their manager mid way threw the championship, it would be a national story for weeks. Look at the flak the Mayo footballers got when they did it at the end of a season a few years ago. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 998 - 06/06/2023 11:43:19 2484344 Link 1 |
Agree it is not even on MLGA facebook it is on there Twitter fed. Its just a pity for all concerned and you would hope it is not PLAYER POWER. That sends out all the wrong messages. Players do have to take some responsibility for there performance once they cross the line and not keep looking to the line and blaming it. The POWER of some players in County and Club is very overwhelming for other players and they do not want to be part of disruption. You would hope that MLGFA get a resolution and push on. They brought us all through very hard times and we are thankful for that and they got our support now we hope they get back on track work - play and keep the UNIT together.
