I was at both of those games and I didn't think either player stood out. Royalmeath2 (Meath) - Posts: 9 - 08/02/2023 11:05:50 2457206 Link 0 |
I would be worried about that team prediction. I don't think they have enough to win an All Ireland. They need more in their forward line if they are to get goals from play. Royalmeath2 (Meath) - Posts: 9 - 08/02/2023 11:08:40 2457208 Link 0 |
Hard to disagree

Yes, I have seen Brian O Halloran for Maynooth and he looked solid at corner back/ full back. Same Freshers team as Conor Gray and Frayne. Liam Kelly and Shaun Leonard with DCU.

Anyone else that team is missing? Head4BlackSpot1990 (Donegal) - Posts: 24 - 08/02/2023 12:31:09 2457241 Link 0 |
Paul Wilson, Oisin OMurchu and Christian Finlay seem to be missing. The all started on the 2021 minor team.

I believe Paul Wilson hasn't played football since 2021 instead taking rugby for Leinster, as for O Murchu and Finaly a stop start year for their first year up as expected I believe Hughie Alan and Frayne are slightly ahead in development at the moment but they definitely could be great options to have off bench

Correct Wilson hasn't played since the all Ireland final, omurchu was dropped off the panel due to a lack of commitment, finaly wouldnt be a bad option off the bench, we will need a lot out of our forwards seen frayne play for maynooth a lot so far and he has been well marked and very quiet, hughie I have a worry about he's very small in stature and is very gready, hopefully we see something Saturday to get us excited for the year ahead

Anyone know anything about the game Saturday? Location and time if possible Meath112233 (Meath) - Posts: 38 - 08/02/2023 14:48:59 2457282 Link 0 |
O Murchu and Finlay played up last year. I'd find it hard to believe that the other lads are ahead of them in development. They have won everything underage with Colmcilles and both of them played a big part in saving Colmcilles from relegation last year.

Seen O Murchu play multiple times last year some against 2nd teams or Junior A opponents in the league and didn't stand out enough in them for me to include him too hot and cold and more so cold but a great man to have as option off bench

Have to disagree with you there. Saw him play multiple times last year as well and he played a major role in winning the Prem 2 with his club and saving them from relegation and still only 17/18 years old. He's definitely more hot than cold.

Top scorer from play in an All Ireland campaign. Think you might have a little bit of envy there.

We'll see what he goes on to do compared to them

We have been to 1 Leinster final at this grade since 2001 so a Leinster would be a great achievement and represent great progress. At minor what killed this age was there was no second scoring forward and when Frayne was held against Derry nobody could step up. Hopefully Hughie Corcoran can provide this. For any limitations he is a natural scorer and I think we have enough physicality and ball winners elsewhere to make up for it

Was down for Navan but I heard it is now fixed for Ashbourne at 2pm

There is a bucket full of lads who shone at minor and never made it to county senior success

1pm Ashbourne Saturday, be great to get a bit of a crowd at it seen as there is no senior game, the only thing that will take away from the crowd may be feis cup matches on, I would be inclined to go to the u20 match to see how the lads are moving

100% agree with you here, it's a big step up from minor to club adult football nevermind senior, hopefully the new development pathway produces some senior footballers for us as we could do with a few
