He was brought in before but couldn't commit due to hurling, am almost certain. Only doubt I have is due to there being so many Ratoath Mcgowans I often get mixed up!

You can never have enough McGowans

The full back position is now a priority as Conor McGill has sustained a serious injury

Maybe he is but he's only 17 hasn't played adult football yet. The three I mentioned are all playing really well with their clubs. Especially Muldoon and O'Neill.

He's coming back from injury, came on last week again Ashbourne and nearly won the game for Kells.

at 2 quarter finals at the weekend Summerhill- Ratoath - Tones - Na Fianna

Standout players for me at under 20 level for Meath

Summerhill - Adam McDonnell . E Frayne and possibly Jamie O Shea

Ratoath - Don't think anyone playing under 20 lever But Liam Kelly has to given a go

Tones - Oisin Martin & Adam O Neill ( what a prospect Martin is )

Na Fianna - Don' think they have anyone under 20 Level playing as Luke Kelly & Oisin McCloskey must be overage

That's tough on him and a big loss to Ratoath football and hurting teams.

I hope they all come through - we need as many players as possible meeting the standard - its a squad game now.

I'll ask again now he's back with D/A, would it be worth our while asking Michael Deegan in to the senior set up? For a lad with all ireland medals in his arse pocket we could do an awful lot worse. I know there'll be plenty that say no, but if we can get a player in with is free taking ability alone would immediately improve our first 15.

Can we stop this now, I'm not a Kells man and have clashed with Kells people on the forum. But this is a topic about Meath players. If there are Kells players that can help Meath teams then who cares if they've come up short when going for the Keegan

Exactly, to have 2 really good full backs would be a real bonus. Kelly went to centre back against Tyrone and really impressed. We don't have a centre back at the moment.

Our current first 15 are not so bad that he would improve things.

100% agree. Besides free taking he wouldn't add enough from open play. He would be a passenger which we couldn't carry

Our weaknesses are in midfield i feel centre back is a non event there no movement on that one.have we options for midfield coming thru that lad from ratoath looked good in u20s this year strong anyway.say be few years before we reap the rewards of these young players.

You're incorrect. I do believe the player in question has a senior all ireland medal in his arse pocket if not more. So to say he's not close to an intercounty footballer is wide of the mark. One of our huge weak spots is free taking and I haven't seen or heard of anyone being brought in to fix it (i'm not suggesting that hasn't or won't happen, but 5 years of continued neglect and have a go hero's suggest it won't) If we can turn away a guy that accurate with the placed ball then more fool us. Is it not at least worthy of reaching out to the player? If he says no thanks then fine. If he says I'd give it a go and it doesn't work then fine. But with the continued failure to even find a 50% free taker (or so it would seem) to put out every game then not asking an extremely accurate player from dead balls to get involved is the definition of stupidity.

CHB - very well said but i don't see a chnage in 2022. I think someone here suggested a couple of months back maybe Oisiin McCloskey would suit the role in the future, so maybe he's an option. I thought the CHB on the minor team in the AI final had a great game and maybe in a few years he'd be an option. But for now I don't see an outstanding candidate for the position.

MF - I think you're talking about Jack flynn? Maybe another year and by 2023 he'd be a viable starter. Was involved last year maybe to build him up and bring him through. Conor Gray is a great fetcher from what i saw of the 2020 minors and could come through. Sean Emmanuel his partner in 2020 looks a potential great addition. Jack Kinlough could again be a great name in 2/3 years. The only immediate gain would be if either Nash or McBride returned from AFL. Believe McBride has been doing great things for St Ultans since he came home for the winter.
