id say clan na gael will do well, they should beat kilmessan and blackhall. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 790 - 02/07/2020 22:46:58 2282811 Link 0 |
I cant see them beating either. Inter last year was poor and i see cng going straight back down. Kilmessan still have a few smart operators and blackhall have some real quality.

thought cng played well in final on a wet day. they have marquee forwards and that goes a long way in senior b.If they get very fit which they will be considereing their fairly young they well out last most teams, i think it could be a great game v Kilmessan. I think Blackhall will go down. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 790 - 06/07/2020 15:56:36 2283234 Link 0 |
Think all games in that group are a toss of a coin , very hard call them hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 425 - 07/07/2020 13:39:58 2283325 Link 0 |
Injuries will make a major contribution in this year's championship. Very short and compact season. Lack of physiotherapy time. I have never seen as many ankle injuries as this year. (possibly poor weather conditions contributing). Large panels will be crucial, depth and quality. Very open competition, wouldn't be surprised to see Killyon in the final. not a hope re. Killyon i think there going backways. In fairness they have a small pick enough, dont seem to have anything on the bench. i think longwood and trim will beat them. I think trim, kildalkey and kiltale toss of a coin between them. i would get hard to see Kiltale beaten tbh. they will be hungry after last years defeat and are young enough to win a good few more titles. Kildalkey might not have hunger enough this year, need to find new young players quick too, to streghthen the depth, still reliant on 2009 team. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 790 - 17/07/2020 23:42:02 2284373 Link 0 |
Any predictions/thoughts as the weekend approaches? Meathman678 (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 05/08/2020 13:42:38 2286457 Link 0 |
Kildalkey v Kiltale: Kildalkey by 2 Would love to be able to get to see this one. Going with Kildalkey based off of league form. Na Fianna V O'Mahonys: Na Fianna by 4 I always feel that Na Fianna have more in them but have yet to break through that next ceiling in their development as a club. Trim V Killyon: Killyon by 2 After seeing Killyons league performance recently against Kiltale. I think they can pip Trim in this one Clann naGael v Kilmessan: Kilmessan by 6 Nice to see Clann naGael climbing back up the ranks but I think Kilmessan are still a step above them. Wouldn't argue with any of above bar maybe Clann Na nGael will get closer to Kilmessan Kildalkey and Kiltale are well ahead of rest and bar some major shock I expect them to meet in final again Think Dunboyne will give a good account of themselves this year showforit (Meath) - Posts: 156 - 05/08/2020 23:35:00 2286530 Link 0 |
Kiltale fielded a very weakened team against Killyon, I wouldn't look to much into the result! Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 171 - 06/08/2020 10:59:38 2286574 Link 0 |

So kildalkey start their bid to retain the senior championship tonight , will be interesting to see how they deal with the pressure of both being champions and in a group of death with the 3 best teams together. hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 425 - 07/08/2020 12:36:32 2286739 Link 0 |
So the champo is up and running, what happens with the drawn games in terms of who plays next ? StickFan (Meath) - Posts: 217 - 10/08/2020 09:13:47 2287061 Link 0 |
Some interesting games over the weekend. Meathman678 (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 10/08/2020 11:15:39 2287087 Link 0 |
I'm going to guess it was Trim themselves who sent in that match report, so you can't really blame the media for any "Trim machine" talk....

Very surprised how poor kiltale were , final score does not really reflect the match , kildalkey were very comfortable for the win. Poor game in general , was played like a challange match with not one big hit. hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 425 - 10/08/2020 13:50:30 2287122 Link 0 |
Kildalkey and Kiltale game never really got going. Kildalkey were building up a head of steam in the opening 15 min but the water break seems to take all momentum out of the game. Again in the second half, Kiltale were just getting into it and again the water break seemed to stop their comeback. Kildalkeys tactics of pulling a forward back propbably meant this was never going to be an open free flowing game. Although I dont blame them as Kiltale revel in that kind of game. Trim are putting themselves in contention with that result against Killyon. They could make a push for the Jubilee this year. I dont think Kildalkey & Kiltale are that far ahead of Trim and Ratoath. Trims 2nd and 3rd teams are also preforming well which is a typically a very good indicator of future success. I didnt realise in my predictions that Navan have fallen so far back. Hopefully they will get their act together and stay up. I want to see the big towns competing at senior grade. Clann na Gael surprised me. Kilmessan have been slowly falling back in recent years. Have their underage teams suffered because of Kiltales progress in recent years? Agree with you StickFan....will we even see a winner this year. Thats said I am glad to see club hurling back and very happy to see the streaming coverage of games. Fair played to those lads for setting it all up. It was Interesting tactics to leave the Ryans on the bench to start with and losing mcgann who really managed the pace of the games is a big loss. Maybe they have been prioritising the football over the hurling and management were giving those who trained the start but they make that kiltale team a different animal. Be interesting to see if Kiltale manage to find the extra gear in the next match. The one thing kildakley have manged to do well is neutralize the threat of jack Regan. I think you are right about the football with re to Kiltale. Summerhill are probably on their knees begging them to commit 100% to try get over the line this year. I agree with Trim beating a poor Killyon team but the fashion in which they did it was surprising. I'm actually more impressed with their second team beating Kildalkey, who if I recall correctly didn't bring on a sub again Kiltale!
