The field in the 2026 Dublin senior football championship will be reduced to eight as the group stage concludes this weekend.

As things stand only two teams – Ballyboden St Enda’s and Thomas Davis – are guaranteed passage to the knockout rounds.

Holders Ballyboden will finish top of Group One irrespective of the result of the meeting with St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh on Saturday afternoon, while Castleknock and Templeogue Synge Street face off at Parnell Park for second place and a quarter-final berth.

Even though Ballinteer have a 100 per cent record in Group Two, they could still be squeezed out mathematically if they lose to Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday and Clontarf beat Whitehall Colmcille.

In Group Three, Thomas Davis have sealed top spot in advance of their Saturday evening clash with Raheny while everything is on the line for Skerries Harps and Na Fianna when they collide in the second of today’s games at Parnell Park (5.30).

Group Four looks the tightest. On Sunday, Ballymun (on 3 points) need a draw at least with St Judes (2 points), while Cuala (3 points) will be confident of beating already-eliminated Lucan Sarsfields at O’Toole Park to advance. St Judes also know that their fate remains in their own hands.
