Rian Stafford Kilmainhamwood

Kilmainhamwood 2-9, Moynalty 1-13

Kilmainhamwood made the short trip to Nobber for a tightly contested semi-final against their neighbors, Moynalty. They got off to a dream start with a two-pointer, and this promising beginning was further enhanced when Aidan Roche was fouled in the box, resulting in a penalty kick that Rian Stafford coolly converted. Moynalty gradually settled into the game, scoring several frees from close range, and they managed to hit a two-pointer just before half-time, leaving only two points between the teams.

Half-time Score: Kilmainhamwood 1-4, Moynalty 0-5

In the second half, Kilmainhamwood faced a strong breeze and came under pressure. However, they navigated this challenging period well, with Rian Stafford adding to their score from free kicks. Moynalty continued to apply pressure, scoring crucial points and eventually netting a goal that intensified the challenge for Kilmainhamwood as the game drew to a close.

With five minutes remaining and Kilmainhamwood in need of a significant score, Aidan Roche skillfully maneuvered towards goal and finished with a well-timed shot into the back of the net. Darragh Smith then added a point to level the game. In a dramatic final push, Moynalty found a gap in Kilmainhamwood's defense and scored a point on the last play of the game, securing their place in the final.

Kilmainhamwood GFC wishes both St. Mary’s and Moynalty the best of luck in the Junior B Championship final in two weeks' time.
