Kilkenny kingpins Ballyhale Shamrocks stayed on course for a 13th Leinster club SHC title after edging out Clough Ballacolla on a 1-18 to 1-15 scoreline at UPMC Nowlan Park this afternoon.
Henry Shefflin’s side were pushed all the way by the Laois champions, with Lochlainn Conway’s goal giving the visitors a 1-2 to 0-4 lead after 10 minutes.
Niall Shortall rattled the net for Ballyhale midway through the first-half and they’d go to hold a 1-12 to 1-8 advantage at the interval thanks to the points of Ronan Corcoran, Eoin Kenneally and TJ Reid.
Stephen Bergin and Willie Dunphy helped narrow Clough Ballacolla’s deficit down to two points in the second-half and they kept the heat on the favourites right as Dunphy levelled the sides at 1-15 each in the 56th minute.
Darragh Corcoran and Eoin Cody hit points at the other end for Ballyhale before Reid sealed the victory with a superb score a minute before extra time, cementing Shefflin’s men a provincial final date with St Martin’s of Wexford next Saturday week at Croke Park.

Doesn't matter where on the pitch he is, he will find a way to score. Looks like TJ Reid has sent @BallyhaleGAA to the final late on 🔥
