Loughmore/Castleiney captain Liam McGrath is hoping that the Tipperary champions can give their best performance when they come up against Nenagh Eire Og in this weekend’s county senior hurling championship final.

The sides are due to clash on Sunday afternoon at 3.45pm a FBD Semple Stadium, where Loughmore will be hoping to achieve their third Dan Breen Cup success in five years.

Speaking to TippFM this week, McGrath said he knows that they are coming up against “a serious outfit” in Nenagh in the decider.

“That was a fierce tough match against Nenagh that day, that could have went either way, we only won by a point I think for a finish in that game,” he said.

“It’s going to be the same on Sunday, Nenagh are a serious outfit.

“They are big, strong, fast and well able to finish and they are going to be a tough team to try and get over but look, you are there and whatever happens happens.

“You’d just be hoping that you can give your best performance and if that is good enough to win Dan Breen then great.

“You’d be just hoping that you can give everything and hopefully get over the line.”
