Fossa’s preparations for the Munster club IFC have been hit by the surprise resignation of manager Jerome Stack.
Stack’s departure comes just four weeks after he guided Fossa to the senior ranks for the first time with a 0-26 to 0-22 victory over Kilcummin in the Kerry IFC club final at Fitzgerald Stadium, and also six weeks before they enter the Munster club IFC at the semi-final stage on November 22.
With David and Paudie Clifford in their ranks – David scored a whopping 0-15 in the county final – Fossa are expected to challenge strongly for Munster honours, but must now do so without their manager of the past two seasons.
It has been reported that Stack – who previously managed St Brigid’s, Kiltoom to Connacht club SFC glory in 2023 – left his role amid a row over the involvement of Fossa players with divisional outfit East Kerry, who suffered a last-gasp defeat to Spa in the Kerry SFC quarter-final last weekend.
It's believed that Stack was unhappy that the seven Fossa players involved were training with the divisional side rather than the club.
