Ballyhale Shamrocks manager Henry Shefflin is understood to have enlisted the services of former Kilkenny team mate David Herity to his managerial backroom team.
The Irish Independent reports that Shefflin has brought in the former Cats goalkeeper in a coaching position ahead of the county senior hurling championship’s start.
Along with the five All-Ireland SHC titles he won playing in the black and amber with Shefflin, Herity also guided Kildare to Christy Ring Cup honours in 2020 and was part of Tipperary’s backroom team for last month’s All-Ireland final triumph over Cork.
Last year’s Kilkenny SHC saw Ballyhale exiting at the quarter-final stage to Thomastown who went on to win their first senior crown in 78 years after defeating O’Loughlin Gaels by 0-18 to 0-7 in the final.
