Tailteann Cup games a long way from Tipperary

Tipperary football boss Niall Fitzgerald doesn't think it's fair that his side had to play their last three games in the Tailteann Cup away from home.

The Premier County made long journeys to Sligo, Antrim and Wicklow in the last four weeks, with their campaign ending in Aughrim last Saturday.

"I think we're the only team out of the 16 Tailteann Cup teams to have three away games, and long away trips as well," Fitzgerald told the Tipperary Star.

“It's maybe something the GAA is going to have to address, you know. But it is what it is."

Reflecting on the loss to Wicklow, he added: "Look, today, or this year, has been a huge path of development for a lot of players. That's what we're trying to do. There has to be growth, but there's going to be learning along the way."
