Tipperary captain Ronan Maher made his return to action last Saturday evening as Thurles Sarsfields booked their place in the county senior hurling championship final.
Maher suffered a leg fracture in June which required surgery, but returned from the bench late in Sars’ semi-final victory over Nenagh Eire Og, scoring the final point of the game.
Sars manager and Maher’s older brother Padraic told TippFM Sport that he's delighted to see him back on the pitch.
“I’m delighted for him myself personally as a brother I am because I’ve seen what he has gone through in the last couple of months and you’d be heartbroken for him,” he said.
“As a Thurles Sarsfields man, I’m delighted to see him back on the pitch and look, he has a long road ahead of him yet but it’s great that he’s back out on the pitch and that he was able to contribute there today and we were delighted to get a few minutes in to him.”
