Kerry and Cork will meet in the Munster senior football championship final for the first time since 2021 after recording respective semi-final wins in this afternoon.

Chasing their sixth provincial title in-a-row, the Kingdom entered this year’s championship race by handing Clare a 2-19 to 1-14 defeat in Ennis.

Having opened up a 0-7 to 0-3 lead after 15 minutes, the All-Ireland champions conceded an Alan Sweeney goal two minutes later ahead of a couple of David Clifford two-point frees and scores from Keith Evans and Diarmuid O’Connor moving them towards a 0-13 to 1-6 half-time lead.

Clare stayed within touching distance before conceding a Paudie Clifford and his brother David would register his 23rd championship goal (watch it below) with 10 minutes to go.

In Thurles, Cork produced an impressive second-half performance to record a 4-18 to 1-12 victory over hosts Tipperary and emphatically book a place into the southern province’s decider for the first time in five years.

Sean O’Connor registered 1-1 for Tipp in the opening stages, but the Rebels would hit the front after the points of Steven Sherlock, Chris Og Jones and Luke Fahy were backed up by a Jones goal in the 21st minute.

Sherlock added two points (one free) as the visitors edged a 1-5 to 1-4 lead at the break and the second-half would see them pull away, with Brian Hurley and Sherlock nailing two-pointer from play and Colm O’Callaghan, Jones and Conor Corbett adding goals afterwards.
