Seán Powter admits he does not know if he will return to the Cork footballers for 2027 after spending this season playing club football in Australia.

The 29-year-old moved to Perth at the start of the year, but Cork's impressive campaign has made him consider a return.

“The honest answer is I don’t know,” the Douglas clubman told EchoLive.ie if he would be part of the Rebels' set-up next season.

“I only thought seriously about it when the championship was on. I was like, jeez, I’d love to be back. But I haven’t made any decision.

“I don’t even know if John Cleary would have me back. This is the first year they’ve got to Division 1 and it was without me.”

Powter admits watching Cork take on the likes of Donegal, Tyrone and Kerry made him wish he was involved.

“It was brilliant to see the lads going so well,” he added. “When they started playing the Donegals, Tyrones, Kerrys… they’re the days you’re like, jeez, I wish I was at home. I wish I was involved.”

Powter still has three months remaining in Australia, with his future with the Leesiders undecided.
