Brian Lohan is hoping Clare will be at full strength for their Munster SHC opener against Waterford in two weeks’ time.
The returning Shane O’Donnell and top-scorer Mark Rodgers were both withdrawn after picking up knocks in yesterday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1B final win over Dublin, but the Banner boss was optimistic about their chances of being fit for the Championship when he also expects to have Tony Kelly, David McInerney and Adam Hogan available.
“We’re carrying a couple of knocks and we’ll hope to get them cleared up,” Lohan told reporters at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
“They (O’Donnell and Rodgers) are really good players. When they’re attacking the ball, they’re really good. They were lightning for us in the first half.
“But you have to get up to the pitch of the game and you have to attack the game. You’re not going to get through these games unscathed. That’s just the nature of the job.”
