County board meetings used to be long-drawn out affairs where debates could go on for hours, but not anymore judging by Clare GAA’s November meeting.
According to well-known local sports journalist Seamus Hayes, the online meeting last Tuesday was done and dusted in just eight minutes, which must be something of a record. Admittedly, there was only one item of note on the agenda which was the appointment of officers ahead of next month’s annual convention.
The names put forward were Joan Crotty as Children’s Officer, Paddy Smyth as Planning & Training Officer and Neil O’Brien as Demographics Officer.
