Dunboyne’s hopes of Meath SFC glory this year have been boosted by the transfer of Eric Lowndes from St Peregrine’s.
The seven-time Dublin All-Ireland SFC winner made his Dunboyne debut off the bench in a 3-10 to 1-12 victory over Wolfe Tones in the A League Division 1 on Sunday evening. He lined out alongside his brothers Craig and Stuart for a St Peter’s side who currently occupy joint-top spot on the table and have high hopes of ending a seven-year wait for Keegan Cup honours.
Lowndes was part of a star-studded Dublin minor team that won the All-Ireland in 2012. He also played in that year’s All-Ireland minor hurling final which the Dubs lost to Tipperary before going on to win the Sam Maguire on seven occasions between 2015 and ’21.
